Here's a clarification on the "bonus tracks" that Target and Wal-Mart are offering:
"Clarifying the Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith soundtrack bonus tracks"
Release Date:(05/02/2005)
The soundtrack to Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith comes out tomorrow, and there has been a bit of speculation regarding some of the ambiguiously announced "bonus tracks" that are available through select retailers.
Back in 2002, Sony Classical teamed up with Wal*Mart to release a different version of the soundtrack to Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, which was a pressed CD including a bonus track, "On the Conveyor Belt". While many fans were disappointed with this move, in which an actual score cue was limited to a particular retailer, this time around, Sony is doing things better.
There will be two bonus tracks for Episode III. Both will be available digitally - the pressed CD in all stores is the same (including the bonus DVD) - but seperately. If you buy the soundtrack through Wal*Mart, you get a digital download of an interview with John Williams. If you buy the soundtrack through Target, the album comes with a DownloadCard, which will allow you to access a radio-edit of "Battle of the Heroes", which has dialogue and sound effects.
With no extra score cues being limited to a particular retailer, fans can rest easy knowing that no matter where they buy their soundtrack, they will get all of the music that is being released at this time. If you want the bonus tracks, now you know where to go!

as of 11:30am the Best Buy in Tenleytown only had one copy left. (which is kind of surprising since it literally came out just today) There is absolutely no push of this soundtrack by them. Also picked up the "Making of" book for 15 bucks.

Wow this is scarce, my wal-mart only had 3 left at lunch time today (and this is release day). It was stickered with the "wal-mart exclusive" download for john williams, and has a little claim code inside. But where can the other bonus track (radio-edit battle of heroes) be found that the above posts are talking about?

The dialogue/sfx mix of Heroes is around the net somewhere. You can easily find it.
Just called the local BB and they're selling it for $11.99. I made sure they had a lot of copies left. I'm going there on my lunch break.

Just watched the DVD, pretty cool. However, I must say that Episode I is in desperate need of a video transfer on par with the other movies. The quality of clips from it were substantially inferior to the footage from the other 5.

I'm praying that this isn't so cool that I'll be tempted. I'm trying (mostly unsuccessfully) to cut back on my Star Wars spending this time around.

For an incredibly cheap price, the ROTS soundtrack along with the dvd is so worth it.
It's apparent that a lot of thought was put into the Star Wars Musical Journey dvd. I actually thought it was going to be pieces of John Williams Star Wars music with him shown conducting the London Symphony orchestra edited with some scenes from the films.
But ALL of the music is under a music video format with a montage of all Star Wars I-II & IV-VI films. I think it is only Chapter 5 (A Hero Falls) that features scenes from the new film.

wow! just from listening to a couple tracks the 5.1 sound is amazing. I love how the DVD is basically what one could described as a jukebox of images from all the films edited together in varying themes. I am glad the intros can be optioned out - I could find that grating afterwhile.

This is a fantastic piece of work for Star Wars fans of all ages.
Basically it takes the best of the prequels and ties it nicely with the OT.
I wish they had a bit more from Ep. 3 to make it all inclusive - but what can you do. Ia m not complaining.
My only complaint is that without the dialogue, the scenes from Ep.1 +2 play better! I wish Lucas had worked with somebody to make the dialogue better in the movies...
