Starsky & Hutch (trailer) dialogue edit?

Not a big deal, but it's something I always notice...

In all the trailers and television commersials (just saw one on HBO), why is Vince Vaughn's line "Happy Bat Mitzvah, honey." changed to "Happy Birthday, honey."

I just never got the purpose behind it...

Because they saw that The Passion of the Christ was a huge hit, and they wanted the same numbers for their movie.

Serious answer: they probably figured more people would understand it if it were referred to as a birthday party.

It could be the guy who cut the trailer used a different take where he said happy birthday instead

Nah, you can tell by his mouth that it's dubbed in.
