The Forgotten

What did people think about the movie???

should it be forgotten or what??? :)

i had mixed feeling... the film didnt quite do it for me! being a thriller / science fiction fan.

meh, it was pretty good, above average inmy opinion, good story

It seemed to me like it was a really, really good X-Files episode, but that's about the length of it. We were talking about it afterward and I think it could be rewatched to see if Moore's character could simply be crazy (have extreme paranoia, delusions, etc.). It's not as bad as some people would think, but now that it's on DVD, soon to be on cable, etc. it is definitely worth watching. But, yes, mostly it will be forgotten.

I thought the movie was absolutely awful, especially the ending. I'll admit, at the beginning I thought it was going pretty well, but once I figured out what was going on, I was truly disappointed.

Started out strong, then took a nosedive at the end. Worth a rental.

i wanted to see this movie so badly, but when i did i thought it sucked. the movie starts trying to make you wonder if shes nuts or did she really have a kid, but we all know she did have a kid from the previews and then the ending everything is so disapointing, there were some good jumps but over all bad movie

Trigger 04-12-05 02:02 PM

I don't remember.

gmal2003 04-12-05 09:16 PM

I liked it, not the best by any means but it was strong.

Squirrel God 04-12-05 10:13 PM

I liked it a lot. Reminded me of an Outer Limits or Twilight Zone episode. Few scares as well due to the great 5.1 on the DVD. I prefered the Theatrical Cut though, by a long way.

Unfortunately. It looks like these friendly reminders don't mean jack shit anymore...........well yeah, It's been happening for a while now.

As I stated in one of the above mentioned threads:

I saw this movie tonight, and here is my very short spoiler-free review.

I know it's cliche, I know it's been said by countless critics and reviwers, but this is one of those times when the cliche rings true. The Forgotten truly is...best left forgotten. It wont be too hard to forget this one either, seeing how bland it is from start to finish. Do not go into this one thinking "horror", because it's everything but. This film is more of a thriller if you ask me, a sappy, pathetic, dramatic, thriller.

Few movies make me cringe while I watch them and even fewer movies make me want to literally vomit with it's cheap attempts to pull at the heart strings, but this film does both.

If you are looking for an alternative to sticking your finger down your throat to make you have round two of your breakfast, then this film is almost sure to do just that.

This doesn't even take into account the also cheap "scares", all of which are of the "BOO!!!!!!" sort. That's not horror, that's just a pathetic excuse of trying to create the cover of horror. Or as I like to call it, very lazy filmmaking.

It also didn't help that the full trailer spoils two of the most important parts of this film, including the main "revalation". Here are just a few more comments that I'm going to put in spoiler tags, and this will be it for this film.

Spoiler:
1) I wish they had've went with a "sad" ending, maybe where she said "What Boy?".

2) I enjoyed the concept of this film a lot better when I watched it the first time. You know...Dark City.

3) Wow, did they even mention that gals husband again really after he "forgot" her? I couldn't believe how they took that and didn't even do anything with it. She didn't even act worried at all about it, and we didn't even see him at the end or anything. Wow, I felt sorry for him more than I did than anyone else, heh.
