all this from the joker who barely had a supporting role in the awful "Cheaper By The Dozen."
here's what pretty boy Tom Welling had to say in the new issue of 'Entertainment Weekly'
Welling belongs on the small screen where the Whedon fans of the world can enjoy him (for whatever reason. I don't see the appeal, he's a dime a dozen these days.)
Jesus, Michael! Did Tom Welling come over and take a dump in your cheerios this morning? I imagine Welling would say he belongs where he wants, not where someone on an internet message board says he belongs.

I can take him or leave him. But damn!

I'd at least give it the benefit of a doubt before writting it off.

Well he can think what he wants and I can think what I want.

I think he should keep his blandness out of material he obviously doesn't respect. He's turning into the Halle Berry of horror.

Dunno if this was mentioned but Latino review had a look at the script for the remake:

http://www.latinoreview.com/scriptre...og/review.html

and I didn't like this bit either:

Oh yeah, this being a horror remake, they have more money for effects and this fog is a lot more gruesome and aggressive. This Fog will be gorier. At least that is how it read. It takes many shapes and forms kind of like the liquid Terminator. It can do whatever it wants.
Just what we need more of, needLESS CGI.

So since I love the original, I guess that makes me unsophisticated....

all this from the joker who barely had a supporting role in the awful "Cheaper By The Dozen." I guess that was for sophisticated audiences as well, eh Tom?
Bah. Don't let it get to you. I'm done with counting on these people doing retreads to have "respect" for the original material.

Well, I for one am sick of unoriginality. Whatever happened to original filmmakers like John Carptenter. Everything now is a sequel or a remake.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off for a Carpenter film festival featuring:

Assault on Precinct 13
The Thing
Village of the Damned
Escape from LA
Ghosts of Mars

I think watching Carpenter's version of Village of the Damned would make you NOT want to be a filmmaker.

BTW, here's the first pic from the new "Fog"

http://www.fangoria.com/news_article.php?id=4259

note how they've (the movie, not the article) somehow managed to mix up the character's names....

Looks like the emphasis is on quite a bit more straight horror than Carpenter's version; either that or just a great trailer for a crap movie...

If by "straight horror" you mean CGI, you'd be right.

* [See "Into the Blue" &/or "House Of Wax 2005" &/or "Stealth" &/or etc, etc..]

I'm a huge fan of the original but I really have no interest in seeing this.

I really loved the original. I remember seeing it after school one day back in 1980. I was alone in the theatre. That made it even better.
I hear they explain more in this one but I think it has a tough act to follow. Teens will probably go flock to see it though. You think there are those who dont even know this is a remake?

I would say a majority of the opening weekend audience.

Since when did Joss Wheden have anything to do with Tom Welling? I don't remember him having anything to do with Smallville. Did he?

P.S. I have to agree. People are kind of flaky. So many think all these new movies nowadays are original ideas. I even had some Best Buy zombie who worked in the DVD section mind you insisting that The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake was the first and only movie in the series. This was around the time the 74 DVD came out and when the remake was playing theatrically. I suppose he was living under a rock.

Horror movies that I have heard were the first in their series.

Freddy vs Jason (The ultimate in stupidity. I am sorry, I dont mean to sound mean, but this is just really stupid. Two series known for sequels. One has to really be in the clouds to think this was the first movie with these characters).

The Texas Chainsaw Remake
Dawn of the Dead
Halloween: Ressurection (How horrible that would be if true)
