Geez, I know movies are crappy every January/February, but this year's #1's seem particularly awful. How can people see crap like "The Boogeyman" and leave something as fantastic as Million Dollar Baby in fifth place? Argh. No accounting for the public's taste, I guess.

Yeah no doubt, I thought it would have done a little better considering how hard they advertised it. Glad I didn't spend my money on it though.

Didn't Alone in the Dark come out like last week and it's already almost out of the Top 20?

Is this just me, or is a new pg-13 horror movie being released every week?

We've had two pg-13 horror movies hit number 1 so far this year. Hide and Seek was R rated, but also hit number 1. Then we also had the R rated ALone in hte Dark, and the R rated Assault (which isn't really horror, but it's connection to Carpenter I guess gives it a loose connection to the genre).

Though, in truth, all three of the first films I mentioend seem to be right up the same alley. Of course, there was the pg-13 edited movie Darkness which came out on Christmas weekend also.

^^ I don't get this comment.

There something particularly wrong with PG13 Horror films? I mean, thinking back, nothing in any R rated horror flick was made any better by R-rated content. More entertaining, sure, but gratuitious nudity does that on occasion.

I'd say grow up, but that's almost as bad as calling someone stupid.

I think he was just pointing out Jaws was PG and not PG-13 in a nice non-demeaning way.

There was a early 1980's movie that came out at the movies already called THE BOOGYMAN.
It's the 13 to 24 crowd that supports this type of movies.

Yeah, these damn stupid people making these pg-13 horror films successful! Why can't we see more intelligent R rated horror, like Friday the 13th or Halloween part 50. Everyone knows gratuitous nudity and gore is the sign of intelligent filmmaking.

Not to mention limiting your audiance to those 17 and above. I mean who cares about those under the age of 17? They don't have any money to spend on movies anyways. Right?

Weird. I've never even heared of Boogeyman. Unlike Hide & Seek, which was advertised incessantly. I'm just assuming both are total crapfests.
