How is that Predator 3 idea a restart? What? Are they gonna say that the first film never happened and part 3 is the real story? :confused:

I have nothing against Nick Stahl or Claire Danes but their not coming back for Terminator 4 will be a good thing if they intend to cast older actors in their roles and give us a future war story.

Alien Vs. Predator II Is A Go

The sequel to Alien vs. Predator is happening and will most likely center on a battle in our world, 20th Century Fox Film Co-Chairman Tom Rothman told SCI FI Wire at the Saturn Awards in Los Angeles.

"We will do another one of those for sure. It was a big success," Rothman said in an interview before he received a Life Career Award from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films.

"In the new Alien vs. Predator they will finally actually really come to our world," said Rothman. The previous Alien and Predator movies took place in the future, and Alien vs. Predator took place in a remote Antarctic location, though in modern times. The new film could bridge the gap between all the movies and the two horror film franchises, Rothman said.

"It's likely that we will bridge the gap, and the beginning of that will be setting it in our contemporary universe," said Rothman. He laughed when the characters were likened to terrorists. "They were always terrorists, yes, but only metaphorically," he said.

So the sequel is going to do what first should have done?

I sure hope Paul Anderson isn't involved. I usually like his films. They're not perfect but they work in a cheesy way. And Alien vs. Predator was entertaining despite being a disappointment at the same time.

Oh who am I kidding? I know I'll see this even if it sucks. I'm a sucker for these characters.

Ridley Scott has also said no to any chance of him taking ahold of any future alien project. That the time for any alien project are long over for him.

Though no involvement of PWSA in a future alien or predator film is great news. The studios want to do them and felt AVP sparked interest in the franchises again. Just give it time.

I've read (recently) that Scott would do it IF there was a good script. Weaver has also expressed interest.

Hopefully this sequal can make me forget this whole notion of either species being on Earth in the present day.

I actually liked the gap in time between a slightly futuristic (or not so) 1997 in "Predator 2" and 2125(??) in "Alien". It gave some credibility to the idea that humans got thier ass into gear and perfected space travel within that gap.
