Well, the Condemned is a complete and totally bomb at the box office. For the weekend it came in at #9 with 4 million with an average of $1,731. That's even worse than the lowest number that I predicted. Here is the complete top ten:

http://boxofficemojo.com/weekend/chart/

1) Disturbia

2) The Invisible

3) Next

4) Fracture

5) Blades of Glory

6) Meet the Robinsons

7) Hot Fuzz

8) Vacancy

9) The Condemned

10) Are We Done Yet?

Ouch. Condemned with $4 million.

For comparison sakes:

See No Evil 6th, $4.5 Million, final $15 mil
The Marine 6th, $7.1 Million, final $18.8 mil

Knowing WWE logic, WWE will now look at that as if Kane and John Cena are bigger draws than Steve Austin in every way.

I doubt they care too much...after all the real money is in DVD sales and rentals, and both previous films made a ton in that market.

They better care if they want their shitty films actually released in theaters. Studios don't release films in theaters just to bomb, regardless what the DVD does. Of course, if WWE is fully funding the production and marketing, it may not matter. These are basically straight to video type films anyway.

isn't that true? I can't tell you the last time I saw some kid with a 3:16 shirt but I see a lot of Cena shirts all the time. Stone Cold is yesterdays news and the box office results are just a show that if he's not in the lime light for a while then they don't care about it.

I'm not talking about a moment-to-moment type of thing, but instead in "all time" terms. There's no way to tell if Cena is a bigger draw than Austin right now unless they started to have Austin showing up on WWE TV regularly. Since he can't wrestle, or chooses not to which I think has more to do with it than his health, what he is able to do on TV gets stale very, very quickly. The fans don't want to see Austin just be there, they want to see him wrestle if he's going to be around.

I think if this movie had come out in 1999-2001 it would have been huge.

You people aren't looking at the big picture. It was the number #1 film staring a bald headed pro wrestler.

So yeah I liked this film much better when it was called Battle Royale.

I'm surprised they waited to long to put Stone Cold in a movie.
