Only one month for Oscar film reviewing?
Just like last year, the Oscars have been moved up to late February. I just saw online that the Nominations aren't until January 25th (Tuesday morning). With the show on February 27th, I'm wondering if only one month is enough time for the members to view the screeners and make quality decisions on voting.

Just because we don't have the list of what is nominated for what yet doesn't mean the screener dvds and the screening theater showings haven't already started. There has been many theater screenings and "for your consideration" dvds have been already floating around. They usually start sending them at the start of the awards season in september or so. It is their industry. They make time to watch them.

I think the situation about AMPAS voters not having enough time to see the films for your consideration before the Oscar nominations are announced and seeing the nominated films afterwards is less of an issue this year.
People forget that last year, the MPAA for a while banned the use of "screener" videotapes and DVD's due to fears of film piracy, which actually upset so many AMPAS members that the MPAA had to drop that policy; alas, it was already too late for many AMPAS viewers to get screener copies of films before nomination and final vote deadlines. Indeed, Harvey Weinstein of Miramax blamed the poor showing of Cold Mountain in the number of Oscar wins due to the fact that many AMPAS members actually didn't see the movie due to the screener copy issue!
