I see.. I'm sure someone else can give you further details but all I've heard was Kevin Smith said he didn't like Magnolia on his internet site and someone with the chick-magnet net-handle "magnoliafan" replied back in some over-the-top fashion, and thus a running joke was born. I don't think there is anything between the two directors personally, but again.. someone may know more.
