re: The Flash (2023, D: Muschietti) - S: Miller, Keaton and Affleck

If I had to guess, this will be an origin movie and then the sequel will be Flashpoint-inspired plot which would combine the Batman-verse movies (The Batman, Batgirl) and maybe Supergirl if she gets off the ground as rumored next year, with the old guard (Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Harley Quinn, Suicide Squad), opening the possibility at least of trying Justice League one more time (maybe under the guidance of James Gunn). Not to mention, would be cool having Margot Robbie's HQ going up against Pattinson's Batman.

In any case, and I'm usually the optimist, I will believe this movie will happen when my ass is in the theater and "THE FLASH" title card is on the big screen. Until then...

Moving forward, I won't believe ANY DC film is actually being made until I see it being shit upon on Rotten Tomatoes. At that point, I'll believe it's actually out...

re: The Flash (2023, D: Muschietti) - S: Miller, Keaton and Affleck

All eyes are currently on IT Chapter Two as it gets ready to kick off the fall movie season in a big way at the box office. The film officially hits theaters on September 6 (snag your tickets right here at Fandango), and early buzz is already very strong. The success of the two IT movies has now offered director Andy Muschietti options as to what he works on next, and the filmmaker has now confirmed to Fandango that he will direct a DC movie based on the Flash, starring Ezra Miller, who will reprise his version of the character as seen in 2017’s Justice League.

During a recent interview for IT Chapter Two, Fandango correspondent Nikki Novak asked Muschietti if Flash would be his next project: “Yup,” he replied with a smile.

When we followed up to ask if his Flash movie would contain horror elements similar to the IT movies, Muschietti seemingly shot that down. “An element if horror? I don’t think so. What captivated me about the Flash is the human drama in it,” he said. “The human feelings and emotions that play in the drama [of it]. It’s going to be fun, too. I can’t promise that there will be any horror [elements in it], really, but it’s a beautiful human story.”

Not much is known about Muschietti’s Flash movie at this moment in time except that Ezra Miller is set to return to the role. Currently there is no release date or production timeline that’s been officially revealed, and back at Comic-Con Muschietti told Fandango that he wanted to take a little time off after IT Chapter Two before diving into the next project. Will the long-awaited Flash movie finally go into production next year for a potential 2021 release? Look for more updates to hopefully arrive soon.

Cool that he's in. Now let's see if it'll stick. Can't think the studio would meddle and push their latest cash cow out, right? RIGHT?

No way the Flash happens with Ezra. I'll believe it when I see it.

We'll see, but I think it will since he was the reason it didn't work out with Daley/Goldstein as they were aiming for a lighter tone, while Miller wanted to go darker, more serious. With Muschietti directing, clearly Miller won.

Also, according to The Wrap:

Ezra Miller will reprise his role as the scarlet speedster.

Does anyone care about The Flash? Unless they make one with Grant Gustin?

I'm with Wolf359, I think they'll re-cast.

I see no reason to bring back Ezra Miller. Didnít his contract already expire earlier this year? Not sure why theyíd want to bring back an actor who was only in one film that was a flop. Momoa and Gadot were different as both had films in development.

I wouldn't object to an older Flash film centered around Jay Garrick instead. They can still tie in Wonder Woman.

I don't see Miller in this either. I thought DC was trying to scrap the Snyderverse except for WW & Aquaman. Keeping miller just keeps the JL corpse fresh enough to be annoying.

I meant for a full appearance, not brief cameos.

If Miller is still in it - wasn't he only going to do it if they filmed the script he had written or co-written? I remember him saying something along those lines.

Why is everyone so down on Ezra Miller? I think he's a great choice, and he's been working his ass off to get this movie made. Is it his fault Warner keeps changing the direction of the entire DCEU based on how well whatever their last movie released was received?

I just really didnít like him in Justice League at all. Thought he was annoying and borderline cringey most of the time he was on screen. If heís in the eventual Flash film Iíd likely pass.

re: The Flash (2023, D: Muschietti) - S: Miller, Keaton and Affleck

I enjoyed him more the second time I watched Justice League but it still wasn't "They HAVE to make a Flash movie with this dude, he's awesome!" People had that reaction with Gal Gadot & Momoa, and I'd even say Cavill and Affleck even had that to an extent(once they got over the initial fanboy casting hate). Miller was an average choice and gave a serviceable performance.

^I don't think anybody was a standout in that movie. Mind you I did enjoy Justice League (on a Saturday cartoon kind of way). But I didn't come out of it, thinking I want more solo films or sequels

I liked Momoa from his introduction in Justice League. His Aquaman probably stood out the most of the newly introduced characters in my view.
