Recommend a Good End of the World movie

After seeing the DotD post and waiting to watch the Day After Tomorrow (have it, just no time to watch it yet), I want to know some other movies I may enjoy.
I really liked 28 Days Later, and one of my all time guilty pleasures is Night of the Comet. I want to see some more end of the world, last people on Earth movies, with or without Zombies/super-human freaks. I enjoy zombie films, but prefer the slow zombies over the fast ones.

What would you recommend?

The Last Man on Earth (1964) - starring Vincent Price
The Omega Man (1971) - starring Charlton Heston

Both are takes on the book "I Am Legend" by Richard Matheson. I think a new version is in the works (starring Will Smith?).

Also, if you liked "28 Days Later" maybe try Day of the Triffids (1962); it's one of the films that came to my mind while I was watching "28 Days Later". I believe there was a BBC TV miniseries of "Day of the Triffids" as well but I've never seen it.

Miracle Mile - Loved this one

The Omega Man - Liked this one, although it suffers badly from being stuck in the 60's. Is the "sequal" any good?

Dr. Stranglove - This is a classic

Until the End of the World - I will have to check these out
The Last Man on Earth

Any more recent films?

I have seen these all, but I am more interested in the aftermath.

What are some of the better zombie movies? ALong the lines of Omega Man, Night of the Comet, 28 Days Later, etc?

I always liked the Harry Belafonte end-of-the-world flick, The World, The Flesh and The Devil. No zombies, but a great post-apocalypse vibe, and racial tension to boot.

Crack in the World is a pretty good descent '60 disaster flick starring Dana Andrews, unfortunetly it is not out on DVD. I believe Paramount owned the right, so hopefully they released this along with Robinson Crusoe on Mars.

Another word in for Miracle Mile, the best movie of its type. Testament (1983) is much more understated but just as devastating. Glen and Randa is another very good post-apocalyptic movie. Special Bulletin is a fantastic, frightening TV movie in the guise of an actual news broadcast.

Threads, sort of a British version of the Day After but darker in tone.
