Universal: the creature feature studio?

While they have made some good dramas and such in the past, they seem to have an especially good track record when it comes to monster movies and horror flicks. A lot of good creature flicks have come from Universal, many of which are some of my favorite horror movies. Here's a list of a few.

John Carpenter's The Thing
Dawn of the Dead '04
An American Werewolf in London
The Serpent and the Rainbow
and of course, all of the classic monster series like Dracula, Frankenstein, and Creature from the Black Lagoon.

I guess it depends on your interests and your focus, because while there's no denying their great roster of horror hits, others might immediately think of the great Hitchcock titles they produced, or the Douglas Sirk (and Sirk inspired) "womens pictures" of the 50's, or those Rock Hudson - Doris Day type bonbons, or the Spielberg blockbusters, or.... or ....

Yes, this is pretty common knowledge. Having seen more than enough specials on Universal Studios, they certainly pride themselves with their horror pictures.

But obviously not ensuring that the DVDs arrive to the consumer in good condition.

Dang! I forgot about the Hitchcocks. But then again, they just go to show that this is the studio for horror and suspense!
