worst editing in a movie?
What are they?
|
You know, I've seen lots of films where I wanted to shoot the editor afterwards, but now I can't think of any!

Catwoman.

Hulk
|
Ghosts of Mars

[Obigatory]Any Michael Bay film[/Obligatory]

Empire Strikes Back: SE
- Specifically that useless "Alert my Star Destroyer to prepare for my arrival" scene. Totally killed the Bespin escape. The Jerry Bruckheimer films play like 2-hour movie trailers. |
Jerry Buttheiny is the personification of current hollywood's most vile defecation side.

I thought that the editing in Man On Fire tried to be edgy and cool when it really was just annoying.

I thought Man On Fire's editing was note-perfect.
Resident Evil: Apocalypse was terribly edited. You didn't see who was getting attacked or by what and where. Originally posted by B.A. Return of the King |

Cassavetes' Husbands.
Some scenes just drag on forever for no point at all. Actually a few other Cassavetes' films needed some better editing. On the opposite end, Minnie and Moskowitz had too many abrupt cuts that felt arbitrary. |
The Emperor and the Assassin. Too bad since it's a beautifully shot movie and it's really great. But the editing....-ohbfrank-
Although apparently it wasn't intentional but rather that they had to cut 30 minutes out of the movie no matter what (something about it not being "critic friendly") and the director simply chose to excise bits here and there instead of having to cut out whole sections of the story. Duno how accurate that information is, though. I wish there was an uncut re-release some day. |
Armageddon is when it got bad. |
although I am a big fan of the movie... The Crow (the first one) had pretty rough editing.
although trying to finish it after brandon lee died may have contributed? |
Resident Evil: Apocalypse. The way it was filmed was horrendous, so the editing process had a really tough time editing together anything sensible when it came to the fight between Alice and the Nemesis.
And HOUSE OF THE DEAD. |

I really hate rapid fire editing during fight sequences. For recent movies Catwoman and RE: Apocalypse definitely. The fights were almost pointless, it's like they told them to swing around wildly and they'll piece it together later.
|
The one film I've actually walked out on mostly due to the editing is Driven. It felt like the editor and director were having simultaneous grand mal seizures while cutting the movie. They seemed to be cutting on every other word during a simple dialogue scene.
