What do you think is the #1 twist ending in movie history? (spoilers)

What Lies Beneath had a series of amazing twists. Unfortunately the MAIN TWIST was given away by the idiots who devised the trailer. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot... I was lucky enough to have never seen the trailer in question when I saw the film.

The fact that he'd make such a stupid comment downgrades him from a great director to just a very good one.

When I saw Back To the Future Part II, I didn't know anything about the film beyond the first act in 2015(although I did know there was gonna be a Part III). I knew absolutely nothing about Death Becomes Her. I don't think I even saw the poster which is good since it gives away 2 major spoilers. I did see the trailer for Forrest Gump several months before I finally got around to seeing the movie, but by then I'd forgotten most of it. For Cast Away, I just kept my eyes shut during the trailer, but unfortunately I was able to hear that he was "lost for 4 years". Still, a lot of the events on the island weren't spoiled for me.

Three more:
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King: What transpires at Mount Doom (if you haven't read the book)
The Nun's Story: The fact that she goes through with it and that it's so simple to do.
Damn Yankees: No spoilers, you have to see it.

RE: Matchstick Men.
It is funny peoples differences in "surprise" elements. Now there were two twists in this movie. The first I saw coming a mile away
the other:
. Got me, but after the first twist is revealed, it isn't that big of a shock.
What Lies Beneath was a snooze fest for me. Nothing shocked me during that one, other than how dull the movie turned out to be. Same goes with "the Others." People can rag on M. Night S. all they want but he taught us to be on our toes. Expect the unexpected. That is why movies like the two in this paragraph weren't that big a deal to me. Just a little cognative thinking and bam! Mystery solved.
As for Shawshank, I'd go for that. The moment I read that part in the book my jaw dropped. Best translation from a book source. Although I prefer the book ending.

Wow...
And I thought this is a movie forum for real conoisseurs...
For the record, I believe one of the first - and best - twist endings was in "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" (1920)
Do you people ever watch anything made BEFORE 1970???

I've been told that the ending was tacked on at the last minute, which seems odd to me when the film is analyzed (I did a project on German Expressionism in film class (then again, I think anyone who's had a film class had to do a project on German expressionism, so... (how many parentheses can I fit in this sentence, hmmm?))).
By the way, Mister Superior, there's two "n"s in "connoisseur".

Planet of the Apes (original of course) was the best done twist, though I remember when first seeing it I had more than an inkling. But the way it was done was fantastic.
But the most jaw dropping twist to me was easily "No Way Out." In particular, at the time I was a naval officer myself and I watched it onboard a Trident submarine while underway with a group of other naval officers, and none of us were at all familiar with the movie before we watched it. We were floored.
