It's called an opinion. One that differs from your own. get used to it. In the real world you'll likely encounter them every day.

Honestly, DiG! is the only 2004 release I've seen that I've enjoyed. If you look at my 2004 Rank them as you see them entry, you'll no doubt discover that I didn't exactly love the film. But I did think it was a well made documentary that actually had interesting characters and a narrative arc - something most documentaries lack.

And what I most liked about it was its, um, documentation of the continued decline of the lead singer/songwriter for Brian Jonestown Massacre. The Dandys stuff was pretty boring in comparison. But hey, at least you've seen it and can render an informed opinion.

The best films I've seen in theaters for the past 5 years were:

blue velvet, halloween, to live and die in L.A., death dream and various other screenings of films that were made a long time ago.

I can't honestly say there were films that I absolutely love made recently.New cinema hasn't been all that good this decade. I guess time and multiple viewings changes things.

But here's as close as it's going to get:

1998 rushmore
1999 magnolia, election
2000 requiem for a dream, wonder boys
2001 donnie darko, mulholland drive
2002 punch-drunk love, femme fatale
2003 spider, alien the director's cut
2004 napoleon dynamite, before sunset

That's wenders' point, he has and thinks it better than Eternal Sunshine. While some may disagree with him (I for one) most are smart enough to do it in a civil and mature way.
