lllooookk i aammm yourrrr fadddurr....
tommy boy is truly a classic. |
Tommy Boy.
Duh! |
While Black Sheep has it's moments (it's a funny little eighty minute flick), the film is nowhere near the comedy plateau that Tommy Boy sits upon.
Tommy Boy is a '90s comedy classic, bar none. |
I enjoyed them both quite a bit way back when. Haven't seen them recently.
I picked Black Sheep simply because of Gary Busey. |
definately a vote for Tommy Boy
the only scene in Black Sheep I thought was really funny was the scene with the cabin and the hail. |
Had to pick Tommy Boy. Black Sheep I've always thought was only kind of funny, but Tommy Boy cracks me up every time I watch it. Black Sheep wasn't even close.

Mr. Meoff(first name Jack) likes Black Sheep, but I prefer Tommy Boy.

Re: Tommy Boy or Black Sheep
Can't believe someone started a thread to compare these two movies, but I noticed that TOMMY BOY was released on March 31, 1995. Never saw a mention of its 30th anniversary.

Re: Tommy Boy or Black Sheep
Funny-ish story (sorta) - which I may have mentioned in a thread a long time ago.
Tommy Boy was partially filmed in Toronto, and I was working in the building where they shot the scene near the end of the movie where Farley/Spade go see Ackroyd. I went down to the lobby on my coffee break and saw people looking in the direction of the courtyard. I was just told they're filming a movie on the street. Cool, so like I always do - I go to the courtyard for my break and fresh air. While there I notice Farley and Spade are about 30 yards away on the street with the film crew. I asked someone in the courtyard who was just standing reading a newspaper if he had more details on the movie, etc. We chat for a minute, and then he tells me "you know , you should go now before they get pissed". I respond with "huh? who?"... and then he says "I'm an extra in the movie. Everyone in this courtyard are extras... you're in the middle of a scene shot". As I look around and confirm all these unfamiliar people who are hanging around unnaturally are indeed movie extras, one of the assistant directors looks unhappy and shoos me away. They're actually using the courtyard and part of the lobby for the scene - the scene where Julie Warner shows up in front of the courtyard and they enter the building through the courtyard doors. So I was almost an extra in Tommy Boy. |

100 plus votes in 3 days. Damn this board was busy back in the day.

Re: Tommy Boy or Black Sheep
I haven't watched Black Sheep since the VHS days. Tommy Boy is a comedy classic compared to Black Sheep so the votes are not surprising.

You should have pressed your face up against a window once you were back inside ...
The problem was they filmed on the inside too, so behind Farley, Spade and Warner you'd see some weirdo from behind (me) who looks to be licking/kissing the window or something. It may have distracted from the scene. ;) |

Re: Tommy Boy or Black Sheep
I don't remember Black Sheep except getting in a fight with my dad that day so if it was ok I was not in the mood.

Re: Tommy Boy or Black Sheep

Re: Tommy Boy or Black Sheep
Tommy Boy by a country mile. Black Sheep is just too dark for me.
