Shawshank Redemption question...

Spoiler:
Why did the guards beat Boggs (the head sister who would beat up/rape Andy) to death almost after he got out of the hole for a week for beating up Andy?

Because the guards were respecting Andy because he began helping them with lawyer papers (especially the $35k gift) and then taxes free since he was an accountant. it was to clear his path so he would do more for them free of charge.

You just watched it on tv didn't you? :)

Thanks scott, that's what I was thinking it may of been. They couldn't of done it just because "they liked him". Had to be because of money.

MasterCXtreme,

I actually own the DVD. It's just that I haven't watched it in ages, and I happened to catch part of it on AMC yesterday and was wondering about taht scene.

Well stay away from TNT or that is all you will be doing is watching TSR.

Assuming, of course, that "Jaws" isn't on. :)

I resisted; the pan & scan treatment was upsetting, and I got the DVD the first time an ad break aired.

i can't ever watch good or great movies on tv..there is simply no point to labor through the worst of transfers, pan and scan, and commercials...i saw it airing, but wouldn't catch it because i want to savor the new 2-disc release next week in all its glory. that is how a truly great movie should always be watched!
