Keith David or David Keith?

When I see either name in the opening credits of a movie I'm always confused.

I loved Keith David in "The Thing" and "Something about Mary" in his supporting role.

David Keith was just great in "An officer and a gentleman" but after that I only remember seeing him in U-571 and Daredevil.

So anyway, who's your favorite David or errr Keith?

JoebobX 09-21-04 10:41 PM

Keith David does a lot of voice-over, I think, like for the X-Box.

David Keith, to me anyway, looks like that Arliss guy. That's enough reason to hate him.

Keith David.

EDIT: Platoon, right?

I really like both of them, but as JoebobX pointed out, Keith David has just got that voice.

Keith David.

Did you see Men At Work? Great performance.

ArchibaldTuttle 09-22-04 12:49 AM

Imo it's Keith David all the way, can't think of anything he did I did not like. David Keith on the other hand, I can't think of a movie he is in, he is just one of those faces I know I have seen in tons of movies.

Keith David for sure

Sex Fiend 09-22-04 01:31 AM

Keith David, mainly for a) 12 minute fight scene with Rowdy Roddy Piper in "They Live"; and b) providing great narration in Ken Burn's "Baseball" and "Jazz" documentaries. (BTW - the quote in the earlier post is from "Requiem for a Dream".)

But some respect for David Keith, too for good performances in "The Great Santini" and "The Lords of Discipline."

Spontaneous new poll...

Keith Jackson or Jackson Pollack?

Giantrobo 09-22-04 02:21 AM

I like both actors a lot. I've seen them both in cool roles.

However, having worked in radio for so long I have to say that Keith David is a Voiceover God IMHO. His voice is rich, deep, and it stands out like a golden Microphone.

I mean shit! He was the voice of Goliath and Spawn.

Keith David rules. I love the final scene with him and Kurt Russell in The Thing

Not even close!

Keith David all the way... The Thing and They Live are the best!

Hokeyboy 09-22-04 05:08 PM

I vote for Bill Pullman. If it wasn't for his masterful performance, Thunderbirds would have been a complete bust.

Bill Pullman was in the Thunderbirds movie?

Darkfriend 09-22-04 06:31 PM

I think Matt hints at the "Pullman/Paxton" syndrome -smile-

Rammsteinfan 09-22-04 07:34 PM

Thought so... ;)
