THEY DID WHAT?! Why ever didn't anyone ever bring this up in any other star wars thread? Surely it is an important matter!

Apparently the moderators do not agree with those of us who think a sub-forum is appropriate. Only one has come, after I reported the post to a moderator two times, and he made no decision.

Although these Star Wars changes threads are old news to us, I was caught off guard yesterday when a co-worker freaked out when I emailed him the Lucas interview. He was totally oblivious to Lucas making changes yet again and also that the original versions weren't at least being included on the DVD as an extra (and won't ever been released again). I wonder if they'll be a lot of people going into these DVD releases blind and are in for a surprise once they start watching them....

Perhaps we internet savvy types, with the help of a cynical media, can whip that surprise into a demand for action! Everybody-- storm the castle!! Originals on DVD!!

The best thing about this was on DVD Talk a few months back. Pants challenged someone to bet him this was a stupid internet rumor, and Luka bravely accepted for the prize of a DVD boxed set.

Luka - since Pants went out of his way to get out of this agreement by getting banned, was there ever a happy resolution to this? I was looking forward to September 21st solely for this climatic moment!

If the films were the original trilogy, with the same extras, keeping the DD 5.1 EX and anamorphic transfers this would of been the best DVD release ever. :(

I believe Jack offered to settle the debt with another DVD/s of equal value since Luka did not want to purchase this set.

I agree, don't like the addition of Hayden to the original trilogy.
This is the change that bothers me the most, still deciding if I want to fork over 50 bucks for this set.

That I did. even though me and pants had it out every chance we came into a thread and expressed different view points, I will gladly offer to pay the debt since hell.. the fox discount is insanely cheap :cool:
