film noir question
I have a memory of possibly two movies, but I can't place their name. I'm pretty sure both were film noir (if they aren't the same movie). One involves the main character retreating to a small jazz ensemble in several intense scenes, one of which someone is killed (I'm fairly certain). The other involves an ex-boxer, but isn't Murder, My Sweet or The Killers. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Maybe...
Nightmare (1956) The Set-up (1949) |
Thanks. The boxer one may be The Set-Up, but the one with the jazz sequence is the one where I'm really interested, because it was great.

Hmmm....I'll give it another shot.....
Phantom Lady (1944) Body and Soul (1947) for the boxing one in case it's not "The Set-up" |
"The Set-Up" revolves around a boxing match and since you say the character is an EX-boxer, its probably not the film you're thinking of.
