The best sequel in the Planet of the Apes movies?

Some people probably only liked the original movie but what do you think is the best sequel?

Conquest of the Planet of the Apes to me was the best where it is set in the future just when the ape revolution is about to begin.

I think they should have just let the series die...

I liked the second movie, Beneath the Planet of the Apes because it carried on the same storyline, and I just love that bomb worshipping cult of mutants.

I've always been partial to

ESCAPE FROM THE PLANET OF THE APES (1971)

I thought it was a clever way to have the series go on, albeit a very low-cost way.

Solid continuation of the first film, darker, well-realized and creepy race introduced, one hell of an ending.

Considering nobody liked it I wouldn't hold my breath, it's dead in the water.

Another vote for Escape. I thought the role reversal was interesting. The actor who played Cornelius was too distracting in Beneath.

The best sequel in the Planet of the Apes movies?

I like them all, even though they became progressively weaker.

I think Beneath is the best sequel. Roddy's replacement had a tough act to follow, but he did a fine job.

I like them all, as well. One of my greatest childhood memories is when our ABC station would have "Ape Week" and play them all in order on the 3:30 after-school movie (they did it probably once a year). Good times.

Beneath.

The others were okay, but that one was definitely made to end the series and you can tell.

Spoiler:
The ending played out exactly as the prophecy in the first one predicted, with Taylor destroying the earth.

Beneath the Planet of the Apes

Reasons- Linda Hamilton as Nova

And the ending with what happens to our heroes really affected me as a kid.
