Oh, yes. Metaballs. I'd forgotten about that mess.

Didn't one of the sequels have an alien in it? And I'm not talking about Cory Feldman.

I'd expect a December/January release similar to the first three films.

God, this is going to suck and I know it. BUT I'll watch it, because I have nothing better to do than rape my love and appreciation for the first three films.

What, Universal doesn't have the balls to give this a theatrical release?

The problem is that I don't think many people will spend money to try this pie at the theater.

Considering the fact that this is a "straight-to-video" release and the budget should be around $5-10 million, I'm pretty sure Universal would probably profit off it if went straight to theaters.

That's if enough of the actors from the first 3 returned to attract attention for people to see this one. Considering that they're going with mostly unknowns they probably wouldn't make much by sending it to the theaters.

"American Pie 3" may have been added to the title by video stores so they could alter the title of the movie to put it alphabetically next to the two American Pie movies, but there is no mention of the American Pie 3 on the DVD cover art or on the disc itself.
Did you know there's a First Blood, First Blood Part II, and a Rambo III?

Don't dismiss the public's ignorance. Dumb and Dumberer made $26 million at the box office off a $19 million budget.

IMDB has the title of this as American Pie: Band Camp.

And according to this (http://www.moviehole.net/news/4634.html) Eugene Levy will be back.

On Dec. 27, American Pie: Band Camp (Universal, price not set) focuses on Steve Stifler's little brother, Matt, played by newcomer Tad Hilgenbrinck. Eugene Levy, the only major cast member from the three previous movies returning for this, plays a camp counselor.

Article also mentions direct-to-DVD sequels to Single White Female (starring Brooke Burns!), 8mm, 8 Seconds, The Butterfly Effect, and House Party.

Since its a direct to DVD job, it doesn't really bother me much that the previous films are being largely ignored. Only helps me ignore this movie, really.

Actually from what i've read it is going to the theaters because the studio execs were so surprised at how good it was that they greenlighted it for theatrical release

Single White Female sequel? LOL why doesn't Columbia pick some older titles to name rape and hope people remember them. Then again, I'd probably pick this up if Bridget Fonda was in it. Where the hell has she been?

Looks like the official release will be December 26. You'd think they could release a week earlier for the "christmas crowd" Here's a Amazon link with pic:

The title says "American Pie Presents..." so it's not part of American Pie "canon" I think.

Is it me, or can you tell a low-budget movie by its cover sometimes?

You would have never guessed this from the trailer. Looks like a big smelly heap of dog shit. Levy should be fined for agreeing to appear in this.

He took this job to pay the fine he was levied for being in "The Man".

American Pie 2 and American Wedding were both released after Christmas when they hit DVD. American Pie 2 didn't hit until early Janauary of 2002 whereas American Wedding hit DVD at the end of 2003.

The week after Christmas is considered one of the strongest DVD sale weeks, if not the best.

All those kids with gift cards and no taste...
