Hhehehheehe.....i for one kinda enjoy the movie. I think because i went it and watch the movie for what it was and not compared it to the 2 Predator and 4 Alien movie. Yes, it had its silliness but i had fun.

the movie was pretty mediocre but i knew that going in; this was one of those movies that no matter how many people trashed, i would just have to see for myself, given that i'm such a fan of both of the franchises.

best way to summarize it is wasted potential. it had its moments but overall a mediocre film. clocking in at under 90 minutes you could tell it was pretty weak with no where to go.

I just went for my second viewing. I used my coupon this time. Don't know if this has been pointed out, but I'm not gonna read thru 13 pages if it has. Towards the end, when the Queen kills the Predator with her tail, wouldn't she have killed the alien inside of it as well? Also, since Aliens' blood is acid, shouldn't the blood she was spewing from all the Predator's hits have melted the chain that was around her neck?

I did like the movie a bit better this time around, but that's probably because my expectations were completely crushed the first time around.

to answer the questions.. it was slightly lower then the chest that it got the tail into it. We saw that killing someone doesn't kill the leech from Mr. Italian who got it in the head before his bursted.

Acid blood didn't touch the chain. The alien head that Lex had was used once when she stabbed the queen and acid spilled, but it landed on the alien head shield.

My question is why did the aliens attack the predator in the first place? Wouldn't they sense the embryo inside of him and not attack? There's a precedent for that in Alien3, or does that only apply to queen embryos?

Deontea Riley, of New York City, was at the Sunrise Multiplex Cinemas in Long Island's Valley Stream watching "Alien vs. Predator" with his parents and older brother when he began to choke shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday, Nassau County police said.

The family all had been eating from a small tub of popcorn when Elaine McIntosh, the boy's mother, saw that her youngest son was choking.

His parents rushed him out of the theater where they performed the Heimlich maneuver without success.

"I was trying everything," his father, Eddie Riley, told the Daily News in Tuesday's editions. "I was trying to put my finger down his throat. I didn't feel anything."

Police arrived shortly afterward and tried to clear the boy's mouth and perform CPR, but he was pronounced dead at Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre.

His body was taken to the Nassau University Medical Center morgue pending a medical examiner's report.

I'm sure there are worse movies I haven't seen. I didn't totally hate this movie but I didn't really like it either. It had it's moments but a lot of lost potential. More gore wouldn't have made it a better movie but at least it would have made it fun had it been done to Event Horizon levels of gore. Really this movie needs to be retooled (as in brand new footage shot to add and to and replace exisiting scenes so as to tell a better story) cos I don't think the director's cut will be much better story wise.

I saw it yesterday so i'll chime in with my worthless review.

There were a lot of parts i hated

Anderson really got the Predator wrong, he's not just a big strong muthafugga. He's a big TALL strong muthafugga. They look almost like Sumo Wrestlers, just way too damn wide from my point of view.

As a stand alone action film it wasn't as bad as i thought it was gonna be, but it's nowhere near as good as it could have been. It is a hell of a lot better then Van Helsing though.


Overall i give it a 6/10

As for the humans dying off unintirestingly, I thought that was a Paul Anderson joke. He has had a everyone is expendable mentality in his horror films (look at Even Horizon and Resident Evil) and with the whole "we're fathers" speech followed quickly by the demise of one character and then afterward by the rather humorous demise of the other I figured Anderson was giving the finger to all the movies that feature characters that "deserve" to survive these types of films. Sure this was undermined by letting Alex survive and he went too far by killing Weyland (totally ruining a potential continuity link).

As for the IMDB info, when I read it, it was my understanding that they wanted Weller for a cameo as John Yutani but it never happened and the character was dropped altogether. Bad move since that should have been the teaser for a sequel rather than the Xenomorph/Predator hybrid. if they were gonna use the latter they should have had it gestate halfway through the film and have it be the big final fight right after the Queen. Sure that would have required an extra Predator. But didn't the director originally state that there were going to be five Predators? Two younguns versus a Xenomorph/Predator hybrid would have seemed about right.

Can someone remind at what point did the predator lose his shoulder cannon?

The running time of the movie is one hour, 27 minutes...or 87 minutes. I've seen some newspaper reviews say it was 100 or even 110 minutes, which makes me wonder if they saw a different version...but the one currently in theaters is 87 minutes.
