No Shock with the Village. I knew it was going to take number one! But the shocker is that THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE is in third! WTF? Excellent news about Catwomen! Glad to see that flop!

I wish Harold and Kumar was higher up...and I predict those Village numbers are going to drop dramatically by next weekend.

What about THUNDERBIRDS? Ouch!

Hopefully this will keep Frakes out of the director's chair for a good long time.

I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing. Those numbers seem appropriate for the Manchurian Candidate. With the Village pulling in huge numbers this weekend and The Bourne Supremacy coming off a $50+ weekend, there's not much entertainment dollars left. Around $20 million would be quite good considering the competition and genre of the film.

Now if you think it should make more, it may have some legs to it, although most summer movies regardless of genre or quality do not. But it's hard to imagine the film opening any better.

Probably still driving around, making brief stops at 7-11 for bags of chips, trying to remember why they left the house

Say, anybody here want to talk about the actual box office this weekend???

Not shocking that "Village" did well, although I think it'll drop fast, while Bourne and Robot are chugging along well. Everything else opening didn't do so good. As a fan of the classic "T-Birds" I was glad to see this misbegotten "Spy Kids" remake crash and burn. "Anchorman" rather suprisingly looks like it'll have trouble reaching $100 million, I would've thought for sure that'd do better.

Shrek 2 ($432M) will inch past E.T. ($435M) to hit #3 in the next little while, but it won't catch Star Wars (#2; $460M).

Yep, looks like after this week Shrek will finally come to rest at #3 all-time domestically. Amazing.

Napoleon Dynamite is doing awesome, relatively speaking. It looks to make ~13-15 million for something that cost $400,000 to make. It's going to outgross Thunderbirds and maybe Catwoman.

I wouldn't be worried about them not making a Harold and Kumar sequel. Even if the box office take the movie will do very well on DVD and video. You can't exactly take a bong into the theatre with you. Well, at least not here.

Pretty decent numbers for The Village and Manchurian Candidate. Universal's gotta be feeling the burn on that Thunder Birds movies though, and I don't really blame people for not going to see it. It's also fitting that Catwoman can't even muster enough in it's second week to top Spider-Man 2 again.

Poor Harold and Kumar... I really wanted a sequel...

Well maybe the DVD might be a huge success and New Line will be like, "Eh. What the ****, let's do it."

Catwoman has made almost $30 mil already. Napoleon Dynamite has made about $9 mil. As much as I'd love it to happen, ND isnt gonna catch Catwoman.

I didn't think Harold and Kumar would do gangbusters, but I certainly thought it would have broken 10-12 million. The word of mouth was great, even the reviews were good, it should have been excellent counterprogramming for The Village and Manchuran, I just don't get it.

I saw it and laughed my ass off.
