Bugs Bunny and The Academy Awards
Out of all the great Bugs Bunny cartoons, why did Knight-Knight Bugs from 1958 become the only one to win? Poor competition that year, or was there something in that short that caught the Academy’s attention?
Plot Outline: Court jester Bugs races against the Black Knight (Yosemite Sam) and his sneezing dragon in pursuit of the Singing Sword. Hardly Oscar fodder, when put side-by-side by such Bugs Bunny classics like Hillbilly Hare, The Rabbit of Seville, What’s Opera Doc? and (my personal favorite), Baby Buggy Bunny |
Maybe they just figured it was about time.

Knight-Knight Bugs is pretty darn funny though. A fire-breathing dragon that has alergies? Priceless!

I've always liked Knight-Knight Bugs; but Hillbilly Hare deserved a string of Oscars. The 'squaredance' bit is hilarious.
