Did you like Point of Return with Bridget Fonda?

I enjoyed it. I did watch the origonal French version later and to me, the remake is much better. The French girl was a nutcase. The hotel scene was better in the US version as well.

I wasn't as adverse to it as others here, but Le Femme Nikita was much better. The scene that resinrats points out is one reason (although he sees it the other way).

I got Point as a free promo when I worked at a local video store. I use the disc as a coaster and put the insert to good use when I ran out of toilet paper that one night.

I hated it, and I especially hated that simpering, whiny-ass Dermot Mulroney.

I rented both and watched them back to back in vhs days and disliked Point of No Return quite a bit (never a great idea watching the remake right after the orginal).
John Badham wasn't a good choice to direct this anyway.
The heavily P&S release left an impact on me also as it was terrible (more so than typical, if that is possible, given it was supposed to be 2.35:1).

This is playing on HBO this month so I put it on in the background since I have little desire to see it again and was reminded of what an atrocious score it had. Even if eveything else in the movie worked the score just pulls the rug out from under.

Of course, this can be said for a number of Hollywood films that overemphasis a score rather than developing characters, mood, etc. elsewhere but even if one wants to associate the name with quality this isn't one I would use to do so.
