Looking for a "new" zombie film for the collection...
i love me some zombie movies.
but i need something "new" (not a new film, just one i dont have) ill list what i got and im open to any suggestions (save the ones mentioned that i specifically am NOT interested in) here is what i have Night of the Living Dead Dawn of the Dead (original, of course. new one is not out, no?) Day of the Dead Return of the Living Dead Zombie (Fulci) Resident Evil i also have (which sort of count but give you a good idea of my tastes) Evil Dead Evil Dead 2 Army of Darkness Dead-Alive (i forget its original title) im waiting for Shaun of the Dead but i dont know when thats coming out. im not too interested in the other Return titles, although im sure i will eventually get them. im not at all interested in 28 Days Later. any suggestions? |
Get the Night of the Living Dead remake.

the poster is so small, i cant read any information about who all is in it so i can look it up. (not surprisingly "undead" shows up in a lot of film titles but, according to the imdb, none of them are simply "undead") |

I'd suggest Nightmare City and Burial Ground, but since you're not interested in 28 Days Later... you may not like either of them.
Zombie 3, Zombie 4, Demons, Hell of the Living Dead, Zombie Holocaust, Crazies (Not a zombie movie, but similar, and made by Romero.) Here's a link to the Undead movie above: http://www.undeadmovie.com/ It hasn't been released in the US, but is available from Australia if you have a region free player. Can I ask why you are not interested in 28DL? Just out of curiosity and because there are other reccomendations but if you didn't like 28DL you may not like them. Just looking for what aspect of it turned you off. |
Shock Waves (1974, starring Peter Cushing)
Uncle Sam (1997, written by Larry Cohen) Deathdream (1974, early Tom Savini gore) Go to Blue-Underground.com for more Zombie titles they have. |
Mutant, it's a toxic zombie movie, very Night of the Living Dead in places. Cool flick, just make sure to get the Elite disc and not the Diamond Grey Market one, that one is awful.
Also, not technically a "zombie" movie per say, but the Italian "Demons" movies are essentially zombie movies. Shaun of the Dead is amazing, I picked up a "questionable' release at a comic convention a few months back, it's not only one of my all time favorite zombie movies, it's one of my favorite movies in general. |
Most been mentioned already..however one that may be worth considering :- Versus

It would help if you looked in the right places.

We're really starting to stretch the definition of "zombie movie" now. Fahrenheit 9/11 Beethoven's 5th |

These have all pretty much been mentioned, but I'm seconding them.
Dellamorte, Dellamore - a.k.a. Cemetery Man Versus (japan) Junk (japan) Wild Zero (japan) Bio-Zombie - (Hong Kong) Night of the Comet Omega Man Night of the Creeps Body Snatchers Dead Heat Re-Animator Frankenhooker |
The Beyond (aka Seven Doors of Death) - Great Fulci flick.

While some purists like to poo-poo it, I highly recommend 28 Days Later.

The Beyond
City of the Living Dead |
Joe D'Amato's Erotic Nights of the Living Dead just came out on DVD. A Euro-horror zombie film combined with hardcore sex, how can you go wrong? :D
Already mentioned, but I also recommend Let Sleeping Corpses Lie, Junk and Dellemorte Dellamore |
