What are you talking about? I'm in my secret lair right now and Jenna is making me dinner. pessss, he doesn't represent me. I mean c'mon, who has a chemistry set they regularly play with?

Jackskeleton 06-13-04 12:08 PM

Represents me? Where's my hawt model of a redheaded girlfriend?

yecul 06-13-04 12:44 PM

I do hope it is not just a single villian this time.
Having "only" one villain is the way to go. With more, as in the Batman series, you run into the problem of developing them and/or having the entire movie be about them. Perhaps the director can overcome this (Batman 2 did a good job), but 1 vs 1 is fine by me.

Jackskeleton 06-13-04 12:51 PM

Yeah, but the main issue with having more then one villian that batman suffered from was the lack of time to fully develope the villians story to all that it can. Also the fact that they had that format for every film other then the first it got old fast.

With possible spidey 3 villians
Spoiler:
They already set up Harry Osborn as the goblin successor and already pretty much kicked it off. They don't need to devote a lot of time to showing why he is doing it. Just him doing it. With the possible Dr. Connors as the side villian then it can work out well. They introduced him a little and he would be a side focus. Besides that, I doubt the audiance would be jumping for joy to see Harry as the only villian considering it's a "been there, done that" sort of situation.

Damn it, you guys are killing me... June 30th needs to hurry up :(

rexinnih 06-15-04 12:02 AM

I'm back.

Would be interesting to have two villians in part 3. They certainly have set it up and could go that way.

Gotta agree with you Jack. On day one this is going in my DVD collection too.

I'll be putting that free movie money I got with the Superbit to seeing this one again.

Jackskeleton 06-15-04 12:17 AM

Going to have to up grade my sound system for the fusion machine scene alone.

Yeah, the set up for two villians are there.

Spoiler:
I felt that they split this one down the middle to having the whole Peter Parker/Spidey no more and the Doc Ock origin. So in the next one without having Spidey question himself they will have plenty of time to go into two villian origins which they pretty much got one half way done.

One flaw that I saw though is that
Spoiler:
Spidey doesn't have that many spidey witty catch phrases in this one. Minor nitpick but I like my web slinger with as much smart ass remarks as possible

Lara Means 06-15-04 01:58 AM

Who did the musical score for Spider-Man 2? And does it bring back any themes used in the first movie?

Superboy 06-15-04 04:17 AM

Danny Elfman did the score for both movies. You might recognize his work from Tim Burton films (Batman, TKMB4XMAS, Edward Scissorhands, etc etc).

Hm.

Come to think of it, you're right. Can't remember one. Another reason to watch it one more time when it comes out.

xfilekr 06-15-04 03:11 PM

Train did a single for the soundtrack as well and is filming the video now I believe (performance video mixed w/ film clips)

Puzznic 06-15-04 05:49 PM

Now im even more siked to see this, i can't wait. Im especially glad to hear that JackSkeleton loved it. I think we have similar taste considering how much you hate Van Helsing.

Get Me Coffee 06-15-04 07:49 PM

Everyone will love this movie! A real story plus serious action! The clock tower fight is awesome too!

Jackskeleton 06-16-04 04:00 AM

A lot of the fighting in this one was just intense. second viewing tonight of it.

I did manage to get a lot more catch phrases which I was kinda bummed weren't all there. but there was two noticable ones
Spoiler:
during the bank scene spidey does his witty remarks

hee, glad to be a good deciding factor with some people in taste of movies. :)

I'll say it again
Spoiler:
I hated the freeze frame in potter but I loved it in this film

rushmore223 06-16-04 11:44 AM

OK, what I want to know is not how you managed to catch an early glimpse of the movie, but I want to know how you get to go see it a second time before it hits theaters.

Get Me Coffee 06-16-04 11:50 AM

It helps being friends with Tobey!

greydt 06-16-04 12:42 PM

All I want to know is:

Was Kirsten Dunst in a wet shirt again? -wink-

Jackskeleton 06-16-04 01:25 PM

Yes, dunst gets wet in this one again. Yes, there is a lot of "cold weather" around her if you know what I'm saying.

as for how. one was just a general sneak preview and the other was for a taping of MTV movie house.

Get Me Coffee 06-16-04 03:05 PM

Love this:
Spoiler:
you've hit the jackpot TIGER

Jackskeleton 06-16-04 03:10 PM

While I enjoyed that pet name being brought into the franchise finally, it was

Actually, I think they snuck it into the first one, but it was casual. This one seems more obvious.

Will that line cause a mark out moment among geeks? I almost did that when I read the line. :D

WHY DO I HAVE TO WAIT? I'm tempted to move to L.A. just so I can see movies earlier than the rest of the country, but only tempted. ;)

Nice to see mostly positive reactions.

FuzzyBallz 06-16-04 05:42 PM

Man, the sound sounds awesome. Can't wait to see this film at a threatre w/ giant speakers. Looking forward to the scene where Dr. Oct comes on and shakes the speakers loose, crushing audience in the side aile. Fuging awesome.

What are you even talking about? At no point in your rambling, did you even come close to an intelligent thought. I award you no points, may God have mercy on your soul.

Jackskeleton 06-17-04 12:06 AM

Clearly, that man is insane.

zero 06-17-04 01:05 AM

I saw the screeing Tuesday with Jack (thanks again man) and well heres my 2 cents.

First I just wanna say....

:jawdrop:

The movie delivers on every concievable level, and eclipses the first film. I was amazed by the first film, and this sequel just blew me away. Id even go as far as saying this is a textbook example for how comic book movies should be made. Not to say the first movie was bad but it laid down very solid ground work for this movie. Being an avid reader of the comic it made me very happy to see Mr Raimi stay very true to the character's and their behavior. I laughed, cheered and yes got a teary eyed the movie was (ok ok I'll say it) amazing. Although I know not everyone will enjoy the movie (as was the case with the first one) I definately need to see this movie two or four more times. I cant wait to see it again, and furthermore I cant wait to see what Mr Raimi does in the third movie. Trust me true believers this is a movie not to miss.

Your friendly neighborhood zero
