What can you expect when they got Bill "Larger than Life" Murray to do the voice?

Get Me Coffee 06-08-04 09:21 AM

sour grapes Murray....

Patman 06-08-04 09:39 AM

"Lost in Animation"?

Kal-El 06-08-04 10:28 AM

No surprises there. Does it look like Garfield? No. Does it SOUND like Garfield? No. Does it laze around like Garfield? No. Yet the movie is called Garfield. There's your answer.

Troy Stiffler 06-08-04 10:37 AM

I hate everything. So this doesn't surprise me...

Giles 06-08-04 10:47 AM

what? this is a earth shattering announcement? and look where Jennifer Love Hewitt's career has gone - oi! (guess she needs that pay check pretty desperately).

PJsig08 06-08-04 10:48 AM

I dunno about anyone else, but it hurts to see this. Garfield, the comic strip, was my favorite for tons of years, and Garfield and Friends the show was my life when I was a kid.

Damn, Hollywood ruins everything these days...

Uh, no. Just a jab for a bad idea in the first place.

So I take it Jim Davis isn't too pleased with this movie? Are those real?

No, Jim Davis was apparently quite involved with the movie actually. Read this interview. http://chud.com/news/june04/june7interviewdavis.php3
Apparently he had a lot to do with how this movie turned out and is pleased with it...so...errr...yeah. Go figure. I suppose Jim should stick to drawings.

I don't know. Let's send Elaine into the steam room to find out.

Of course, you realize he doesn't even do that anymore. He hasn't drawn the strip for years.

Every time I hear that "I'm walkin' the dog" line I want to punch a kitten.

JACOB 06-08-04 10:04 PM

garfield is a kids movie.. most kids 10 and under will probably like it.
I don;t expect adults to like it.. its more family friendly then say both shrek 2 and harry potter.

bill murray is in top form as the voice of garfield. the movie is about garfield. there are some great funny moments from the movie. Its also a very short movie.

its much better then scooby doo.

More family friendly than Shrek 2 and Harry Potter? How do you figure? Both adults and kids love Shrek and HP, though Garfield I imagine will appeal more towards kids alone. So if anything, Shrek and HP are more family oriented, and Garfield is kiddie oriented.

POWERBOMB 06-08-04 10:35 PM

I wanted it to be better, but the previews show it for what it really is.
