Most Loathsome Basketball Fantasy Movie
Watching HBO recently, I couldn't help but notice 3 recent, awful, baseketball fantasy films, one worse than the next. Apparently concieved as pandering star vehicles, they are just some of the laziest, hamfisted movies I've run across. I refer to
-Eddie
-Juwanna Mann
-Like Mike
Outside of sports movie cliches like the bumbling team made into stars or the big game at the end, these more specicifally feature(or seem to feature, I honestly haven't gotten start to finish on any of them):
-the giant stupid European center
-the put upon coach
-the suit/buisness person who wants to exploit the star vehicle talent
-the moral/life lesson
-a ticket giveaway/prize promotion that seems entirely hackneyed and far fetched
-TV announcers who broadcast over the air in the arena and communicate in suprisingly, non-coincidental expository sentences
What convergence of Hollywood's much hearded copycat nature forced not one, but 3 of these turds on the viewing public? Which one is the worst?

The answer to this question must be: Coach "starring" Cathy Lee Crosby.
For years I referenced this as the worst film I ever saw (I still don't have a better answer).

It is regarded as such. Many NBA player (surprise surprise) say that Hoosiers is one of their favorite basketball films. No realism in the game shots, but its a classic.

Just to show how opinions vary i think Hoosiers is the best basketball film ever made,i was also under the impression that it was widely regarded as a great sports movie,one of the best
People like predictable, feel-good movies so I'm not surprised that many people like this film. Me - I like originality and characters with more than one dimension.
