DVD Talk Limited Edition
While I loved his performance in The Shining, gotta go with Cuckoo's Nest.

The first person to say "Batman", I swear to god I am paying a hit man to beat the crap out of you. That was so NOT The joker, it's not even funny. It was Jack playing Jack-Being-Insane instead of the Joker.
You want good charaction of Joker? Mask of the Phantasm - Mark Hamell nails it DEAD on in that one. He so owns Jack, it's not even funny.

"Darling. Light, of my life. I'm not gonna hurt ya. You didn't let me finish my sentence. I said, I'm not gonna hurt ya. I'm just gonna bash your brains in. I'm gonna bash 'em right the **** in. Ha, ha."
But seriously - his best performance is Cuckoo's Nest.

I really thought he was stunning in Cuckoo's Nest and The Shining, but remembering the ending of About Schmidt makes me all teary eyed. I'll going with Schmidt---tough choice though.
