I really hope it's Damon. I never really liked either too much, but looking back on it, I've enjoyed quite a lot of the films Damon has been in.

Ben may know how to play the Hollywood game, but I'd say that Matt has way more talent and that, to me, is what matters in the long run.

Coincidentally, that's exactly what Ben said to Matt.

Unfortunately, I think it's all about "playing the game", and Ben has the nod there. Not that I don't like him, I just think that Matt is the better actor.

I have to go with Affleck. Even with Gigli on his resume, he still is a bigger box office draw. In addition, his last film, Paycheck, nearly doubled Damon's Stuck on You (and Paycheck performed only moderately at the box office). Plus, aside from Stuck on You, Damon hasn't been in much lately aside from The Bourne Identity/ and upcoming sequel. Also, Damon likes to make more independent flicks like Gerry that no one really sees. I'm sure both will be around for a while, but I think Affleck will have a longer career.

Both have equal levels of talent, but Matt Damon seems to make the better choices of roles.

Hopefully Damon. He's a much better actor and I've enjoyed him in films like Gerry and The Talented Mr. Ripley. I felt downright embarassed watching Affleck "cry" in Jersey Girl.

Matt Damon: Just take it from "It's a good course."
Ben Affleck: Oh, now you're the director.
Matt Damon: Hey shove it, Bounce-boy. Let's remember who talked who into doing this shit in the first place. Talking me into Dogma was one thing, but this...
Ben Affleck: Hey look, I'm sorry I dragged you away from whatever-gay-serial-killers-who-ride-horses-and-like-to-play-golf-touchy-feely-picture you're supposed to be doing this week.
Matt Damon: I take it you haven't seen Forces of Nature?
Ben Affleck: You're like a child. What've I been telling you? You gotta do the safe picture. Then you can do the art picture. But then sometimes you gotta do the payback picture because your friend says you owe him.
[They both take a beat and look at the camera]
Ben Affleck: And sometimes, you have to go back to the well.
Matt Damon: And sometimes, you do Reindeer Games.
Ben Affleck: See, that's just mean.

Ben's the better "star" - Matt's the better actor. So I guess that means Affleck will be much more prominent in the near future, but Damon will have the longer career when all is said and done. No one will care that Affleck was a big star when he's 50.

Matt Damon - besides Stuck on You - I think he chooses better projects.

These guys need to have William Goldman write another script under their name, revitalize their careers a bit.

Hey William Goldman -- do you like apples? Well Affleck and Damon won a screenwriting Oscar! How do you like them apples?

Spoiler:
Goldman has two, but that's not funny.
