Unfortunately, I think it's all about "playing the game", and Ben has the nod there. Not that I don't like him, I just think that Matt is the better actor.

I have to go with Affleck. Even with Gigli on his resume, he still is a bigger box office draw. In addition, his last film, Paycheck, nearly doubled Damon's Stuck on You (and Paycheck performed only moderately at the box office). Plus, aside from Stuck on You, Damon hasn't been in much lately aside from The Bourne Identity/ and upcoming sequel. Also, Damon likes to make more independent flicks like Gerry that no one really sees. I'm sure both will be around for a while, but I think Affleck will have a longer career.

Hopefully Damon. He's a much better actor and I've enjoyed him in films like Gerry and The Talented Mr. Ripley. I felt downright embarassed watching Affleck "cry" in Jersey Girl.

Ben's the better "star" - Matt's the better actor. So I guess that means Affleck will be much more prominent in the near future, but Damon will have the longer career when all is said and done. No one will care that Affleck was a big star when he's 50.
