I found a little-known TV movie from 1991 to be very suspenseful called The Haunted. Not sure of its DVD status.

I might add that it is a rather slow-paced film if that makes any difference. I thought it was great regardless. Great atmosphere.

How about Poltergeist? Still one of my favorite scary/mostly non-bloody movies.

I was about to say this, but the mirror sequence might turn a few stomachs.

dad thinks its a kids movie.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974 - The greatness of the movie is that you think it's bloody but there's actually very little blood.

DVD Smurf 05-25-04 10:14 PM

Memento Mori
Innocents (1961)
Onibaba

I have so far agreed with every movie on this list except Mothman Prophecies which had to be one of the worst films in recent years.

Argento's The Bird With The Crystal Plumage has very little blood and gore, especially for being an Argento flick.

Halloween and Halloween 4 also have very little blood and gore (and Halloween 4 is considered the best sequel among the series).

Well if Linda Blair violently masterbating with a bloody crucifix didnt upset the rypro family, I doubt that Poltergeist would bother them too much.
