HP & the Goblet of Fire casting news!

From CBBC:

For months there's been speculation about who will be playing which parts.

And finally, producer, David Heyman exclusively told Newsround Online who will be playing some of the roles.

Madame Maxime, headmistress of Beauxbatons, will be played by 1970s sitcom star Frances de la Tour.

She's most famous for her role in the classic British comedy Rising Damp.

And Brendan Gleeson will play Defence Against The Dark Arts Teacher Mad-Eye Moody.

He's most recently been seen playing Menelaus in Troy, the King who has his wife stolen from him by Orlando Bloom.

Gleeson has already appeared in a film with Daniel Radcliffe, The Tailor of Panama in 2001.

Work on Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire started a couple of weeks ago. And it'll be released in 2005.
Never heard of Frances but I think Gleeson would be great as Moody.

Interesting. I don't really know who these people are.

I just hope they get someone really good for Voldemort. Maybe Jeremy Irons

Gleeson is cool. I liked some of his roles in the past. He was great in Lake Placid.

Gleeson was great in 28 Days Later and Troy, Moody should be a character that fits him well. I recognize de la Tour's face but can't seem to place her.

Holy shit! Was that him? As soon as I saw your post the whole scene popped in my head.

He's becoming a favorite of mine too.

Simon Voldermort "Simon says lets play a game Mr. P-P-P-Potter"

Hans Snape "Mr. Potter, what was it you said....Yippee Ki Yay...Mother <censored>..?"

I've seen risigin damp in the past, and she should be great, but Gleeson as Moody is perfect.

Frances de la Tour has been one of the mainstays of the British theatre scene for many years - she hasn't done that many movies. She did appear on Broadway in a 1970 RSC production of Midsummer's Night Dream in a cast that included some other "unknown" British performers: Ben Kingsley and Patrick Stewart. She's probably co-starred on the London stage with every important performer of the past 30 years - nice that now she'll get some world-wide recognition!

I thought I read last week that the role originally went to John Malkovich, but he's tied up in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Surely, there's a more flattering picture of Frances de la Tour out there?
