I just remembered a Wizard of Oz reference...a couple in fact (one with the fairy godmother behind the curtain, and one where Donkey is yelling "I'm melting, I'm melting!" in the rain)

If so, it's the most obscure reference ever.

You know....

....I wonder why nobody has put up a web site describing all the parodies in Shrek 2.

Anyone catch the poster of Prince Justin in Fiona's room? In case you didn't know, Cameron Diaz (voice of Fiona) is dating Justin Timberlake.

The upside-down Spiderman kiss.

Puss, in the Alien like bursting through the chest.

Also:

Burger Prince (Burger King)
Romeo Drive (Rodeo Drive)
Versarchery (Versace)

Just found the following from a Shrek 2 trivia site:

There are numerous references to the King being a frog throughout the movie:

* He has a painting of his human self standing over a pond next to his bed.
* His wife reminds him of their first date by the lake, their "first kiss"
* His bedsheets and most of his furniture is leafy green.
* A female frog in the bar asks him, "Don't I know you from somewhere?"

-The Big Gingerbread man was a parody of The Stay-Puft Marshmallow man in Ghostbusters.

-The Wolf is found reading a magazine named Pork Illustrated which is a spoof of the swimsuit of Sports Illustrated.

-The Big Gingerbread Man's last words "Be good" are a reference to E.T.

-When Shrek and Fiona arrive in Far Far Away, they pass a movie theater playing Lethal Arrow 4 which is an obvious reference to Lethal Weapon 4.

-Puss in Boots reaching back to grab his hat just before the trap door falls is a reference to Indiana Jones.

Wow, after reading this, I can't wait to see this movie AGAIN! I think it might be even better than the first one!

It sounds SO familiar, is there another time Eddie Murphey said that as another character in a different (Disney?) movie, or was it perhaps from the first Shrek? I know I've heard him say that line before, and exactly as he said it in Shrek 2. Been driving me nuts.
That scene reminded me of Bowfinger when Jiff (Murphy) is crossing the highway. You know the "Heavenly God, Heavenly God! I don't wana do that again!" scene. The dialog is not the same but the delivery amd inflection is spot on.

Love Potion No. 9

The potion referenced by the movie's title has exactly the same effects and requirements for use as the one in Shrek 2.

Saw it again over the weekend . . .

Baskin Robbins was Baskin Robin Hoods.

Another Wizard of Oz reference was the Fairy Godmother coming down in the bubbles (like Glinda the good witch).

Another Indiana Jones reference was when Shrek was attempting to grab Fiona's diary out of the music box, his mannerisms were the same of Indy getting ready to grab the idol in Raider's of the Lost Ark.

All in all, the Cops parody "Knights" had to be the best . . .

What movie was the inspiration for when the big gingerbread man was doused with milk and was falling away as his arms broke off, and then the little gingebread man jumps off towards the big gingerboard man. That shot was so familiar, but I couldn't place the film.

Most of these have probably been mentioned already, but I just came across this article on the topic.

Wait, you guys forgot the Street Fighter II moves that Fiona did, at the beginning of the movie, to save Shrek! She did Ken/Ryu's spinning kick, then finished them off with a Shoyuken!

I didn't notice anyone pointing out the Austin Powers tribute.

When Shrek/Fiona were walking towards the King and Queen on the red carpet, the final word of their statement would instead by spoken by the next character, as the first word of their statement, and so on and so on.

They did this in all three (I think) of the AP movies.

Don't forget the "From Here to Eternity" reference where they're kissing on the beach with the waves rolling over them.

I remember someone in the movie saying "Not that there's anything wrong with that!" just like in Seinfeld.

In the commercials and the trailer... the wolf is reading "The New Porker."
