Will there ever be another TITANIC after Cameron's "Titanic?"

There are sooo many versions of Titanic prior to James Cameron's 1997 blockbuster version, I wonder if they will bother with any more.

What I would like to see is a movie based on the aftermath of the
Spoiler:
sinking
- the official American and British Inquiries, the lives of the survivors (Ismay, Molly Brown, etc), and a glimpse of the families who lost loved ones (JJ Astor, Goggenheim, etc.) on the ship.

A film on this has never been made, despite the interesting, if not sad, details of J. Bruce Ismay's life after the Titanic. (I don't suppose we'll see a glimpse into Cal Hockley's life before he put a pistol in his mouth after the stock market crash of '29.)

That's the thing: If they do make another film, it will definetley have to focus on other things aside from just that night and the sinking. You can't remake a classic, but you can take an angle from it. For example, I'm sure there's more to the life of T.E. Lawrence than Lawrence of Arabia shows, but to depict these things, it would be wise to avoid the same type of shots, locales, etc.

They can and will remake any movie that ever came out of Hollywood.

Did we NEED Adam Sandler to do a remake of Frank Capra's Mr. Deeds goes to Town? How about Eddie Murphy doing The Nutty Professor or Doctor Dolittle? Then there is the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Dawn of the Dead, etc.

Since you brought it up, I found Eddie Murphy's remake of "The Nutty Professor" it's follow up "TNP2-The Klumps" to be hilarious.

Maybe they should do a movie from the icebergs' point of view?

Here's this iceberg... victim of abuse from Icelanders. He's from a broken home, so life isn't the greatest. He runs around with the wrong crowd and they dare him to jump in the southern current. Soon he becomes a floataway. After some alone time (with flashbacks) he decides that there's no place like the glacier so he turns around to go home....

... then this ships shows up....

IIRC, the iceberg "won" that encounter right? Otherwise we wouldn't be here talking about making more movies after Titanic. :D

Anyway, I don't think anybody's going to be touching the cruise-liner-movie "genre" anytime soon.

If anything, a movie about the Inquiries would just be a TV movie, not a theatrical movie. Not exactly exciting stuff.
"Ebert & Roeper give 'The Titanic Inquiries' two thumbs up. Watch the riviting action as Bruce Ismay takes the stand!!!!! Not for the feight of heart!!!!!!!!"

I guess they go loose all credibility and make a movie where in the modern era, people find Jack, frozen in a chunk of ice. After thawed, he runs amuck and the ghost of Rose is the only one that can calm him.

The Sequel is Bill Paxton swimming around the Atlantic sea floor look for the big diamond thrown overboard. He finds it only to be attacked by an iceberg on his way to the surface
