What are the best adaptations that are quite UNfaithful to the source material?
Inspired by the Constantine thread, the consensus of which is that it looks nothing like the comic it's based on, but seems interesting anyway...
I'll get things started.
Blade Runner
- Nothing like "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep" really, but still good, no?
Total Recall
- Another Dick adaptation that was folled around with extensively, but can be considered a great action/sci-fi film, even if it's not too faithful.
Anything else? (I do ask to keep the bashing to a minimum)
I'll get things started.

I read that book before I saw the movie. I was SO looking forward to the juvenile T-Rex and the Stegasaurus...
... yet I was disappointed when various parts of the first novel showed up in the movie's sequel.
