Movies you love, but everyone else around you hates.

I was watching "Mystery Men" the other day (for the umpteenth time). It's absolutely one of my favorites . . . can't get enough of it. I was contemplating how no one else, family or friends, like the movie. In fact, some despise it.

Anybody else have that problem with other movies?

Hackers

Cons:
Unbelievable plot.
Unrealistic characters and situation.
Goofy dialog
Mediocre special effects

Pros:
Great pacing.
Wonderful chemistry between Miller and Jolie (they met and later married while making the film)
Some decent silly over the top comedy.

My second would be Mystery Men. (not because of the original poster)

I second The Hulk.

I liked Hudson Hawk a lot...can't say "love" though unless a better dvd comes out, which is highly unlikely.

The Evil Dead trilogy.

I know they're great, you know they're great...my girlfriend? Not a clue.

Same goes for Romero's Dead trilogy.

Why are the two things listed above so. friggin'. important. to people?

I read those sentiments a lot around here, and I've found that use of those arguments is secret code for "I don't understand movies in the least bit." I blame college film theory classes...

HACKERS is a great film. Love it for the creation that it is. Feel no shame because you can't put yourself in Zero Cool's shoes.

My pick would be POOTIE TANG.

ID4. The best alien invasion movie ever. No stupid aliens starting to attack some midwest farm town. These guys went right for the cities.

People can't get over the fact that they interfaced with the aliens computer with a laptop but have no problems believing other movies that have magic in it.
