what would they be.
i personally think that its perfect like it is, and that cuts would take away from the little character moments that Tarantino put into both movies. but i know there are people who thought that it could easily be one 3 hour movie. if it was one long 3 hour movie, then about 15 min would be cut from vol 1 and about 45 min from vol 2.

I completely agree with you Rypro, I saw nothing that should be cut out. I expect the long NC-17 cut to have even more footage, actually. Which I think could work, as the structure would be changed.
I have said my peace, and I leave this thread.

I agree with the both of yous. I would change nothing. Except for the Black and white during the battle with the Crazy-88's.

I can't imagine cutting these two films. The dialogue and character development are essential, so if you were to cut anything, it would have to be stuff like the Crazy 88 sequence, which seems a horrible proposition.
I'm one of those that suggested the second two Matrix films would have been better as one sequel instead of a drawn-out trilogy, but with Kill Bill, I think the two films make sense as stand-alones, and I can really understand why it was suggested in the first place (putting aside monetary concerns). At this point, I'm not even sure I like the idea of combining them into one uncut film.

I'd cut out O-ren's origin/anime sequence. She's the only one to get any back story. Nothing on Vernita Green or Ellie Driver. To me it was a stand alone piece that could be cut without giving up the story of the Bride. And I guess it's because it is the Bride's story.

I would still hate it.

the scenes were long in vol 2. little nip and tucks here and there could have helped the pacing. also not needed was bud's conversation with his boss.

-10 minutes - Bill at the My Oh My titty bars.
-10 minutes - O-Ren Ishii's anime sequence - I LOVE the sequence, but found it rather bizarrely placed. Should be an additional scene.
-10 minutes - a few "minor" things here and there in volume 1.
-10 minutes - a few "minor" things here and there in volume 2.
+10 minutes - flashback scene to Bill vs. Gambler and Jai White
+5 minutes - I want Sofie Fatale back : (
The first two were the only two character-centric pieces that actually had no effect whatsoever on anything else, I love the O-Ren part but found it a bit unfair toward other characters and Budd's part which did nothing for me.
I love the movie as a whole, but those are the only two things that actually stood out as "cuttable", the rest are extended scenes that could be snipped with nobody noticing.

I think I'd cut the O-Ren back story, which like others have said wasn't really needed and wasn't given for any other villains. From V2, I'd cut back some of the Budd stuff with his work and the pointless conversation with his boss
But really, it works well as two movies.

I think the O-Ren backstory is important because she's the main villain in Vol. 1. It's needed to show how bloodthirsty she is, and how tough it's going to be when The Bride takes her on.

-Color House of Blue Leaves (personally I didn't mind the B&W switch, but it'll be interesting nonetheless)
-Opening monologue to Vol. 2 (while amusing, it's meaningless since it's gonna be one movie)
Kill Bill is great as two, but I'll be very interested to see if Tarantino decides to go the "Godfather Saga" route with this one.

I would tighten up some scenes here and there, but the only complete scene that I think could be ditched with no effect was the scene between Budd and his boss in Vol 2. Sure it was mildly amusing, and it kind of showed that Budd had pretty well hit rock bottom, but I didn't find it too necessary to the film.

Vernita Green is just as important than O-Ren. It just so happens that the Bride takes care of O-Ren because she was the easiest to find. (Plus she was in the area to get the Hanzo sword.)
Now I'm wondering why since O-Ren is first on the list, the Bride didn't have the Hanzo sword with her as she went to Vernita's?

I never thought of that. Maybe, she just forgot it in the P*ssy Wagon.

I don't understand the reason for several of Budd's scenes ....
- as others have said, the confrontation with his boss had no payoff
- what was the purpsose of the whole "pawned" sword bit except for a couple of jokes?
