Passion/LOTR geeks seem to be touchy folk...

So that we may ALL get along, I am working on a script that combines PASSION with LOTR.
It's called "Lord of the Christ" |
Originally posted by Mr. Cinema If you take out the church groups that have saw The Passion, then how much will it have made? $100 million? And some of these church groups, who say that going to movies is a sin, etc, will go watch this....just a tad hypocritical. It's still just a movie. This movie is constant violence, no matter what the message is. Probably has more violence than any other R rated movie ever made. And BTW......The Passion ain't catchin' TITANIC. To all the haters out there, TITANIC ain't fallin to Mel. Sorry.........not happenin'. And while we're on the subject, it ain't catchin Spider-Man and it sure ain't toppin Star Wars. With only 9 movies that have made more in the history of the world I think you argument falls a bit short. It blows my mind how people get so mad the movie had done so well. |
It saddens me that a GREAT movie like Eternal Sunshine is getting lukeward support from moviegoers :(

Originally posted by Groucho Not a chance. Don't forget that The Alamo and The Girl Next Door are opening. |
I don't know, Box Office Guru is predicting the highest grossing new film will be Alamo with $18 mil. Even though he also predicts $13mil for Passion, I think it may be higher looking at the huge increases leading up to the holiday weekend.
|
The theater count is the major issue.
Passions is still playing in 3200+ screens. Alamo opens up in 2600+ screens and that's the biggest # of screens for this weeks openers. It's going to be one crowded weekend with all the second weekers and the fresh faces on screen.. |
