worst effects in your opinion (only particular shots or scene's please)

in other words i just want you all to menion specific scene's or shots that kind of took you out of the movie, because the effects looked really fake in your opinion.
I'd say alot of the shots in "Hulk" when he was throwing things looked really fake to me. the cgi had that rubbery effect.
a new hope, the infamous "greedo shooting first shot" when you have it on pause, its so fin obvious that its a stand in puppet.

why don't we start with scooby doo and end with scooby doo. that hands down is worst cgi continuously in a movie.

The ending of Mummy Returns.
Looked like a scene out of those early Alone in the Dark games.

A Trip to the Moon

When the spaceship landed in the guy's eye, it lost all credibility.

I've always disliked the effects in the Fastest of the Furiousest movies. Any time the screen would blur, or the cars would drive through the camera just seemed so fake. On a different note the second one also had to have the absolute worst audio encoding I have ever heard.

I actually thought the CGI in Hulk was pretty good. But different strokes and all that. Other movies guilty of bad effects:

Matrix Reloaded
Matrix Revolutions (though for CGI humans it was pretty damn good)
Blade (at the end when Steven Dorff's character explodes)
Tron (1982 you say? Well nevermind then)
Let the flaming commence:

Return of the King (when Legolas is riding that elephant creature)
parts in Star Wars: EP 1 & 2

All I can think of right now.

SW AOTC - the scene in the Arena where Anakin is riding the creature. Everything about that scene just did not fit even though I thought the CG in the rest of the movie was fantastic.

I'm just going to say every single movie that features a CG shot because they're all eventually going to get listed.

And for something without CG...Jaws the Revenge. Any scene with the shark. At least the first 3 films tried to either make the shark semi-realistic or hide it.

cruzness I totally agree with you. Hulk was awesome cgi wise. for what had to be done ILM did a great job. Matrix reloaded burly brawl was bad as was the cgi jabba the hut in star wars IV special edition.

I hardly think you'll get flamed for this. Anyone being honest with themselves will realize that the LOTR series has some glaringly obvious CG shots. I never really minded, though.

The ending of Torque was extremely CG-heavy.

The shot in Return of the King where Deagol is being dragged along the bottom of the river. Worst shot in the whole trilogy.

That would be mine as well, it ruined the whole movie for me.

Theres this scene in Along Came a Spider when theres some sort of car crash/ car goes over a bridge or something that looks horrendous! Some shots in Spiderman were kind ridiculous like when he first starting to climb up walls in his bootleg spidey suit. I also thought some of the zombies in Resident Evil look odd with thier faces using CG to show thier rotting and decomposition.

The second Matrix movie - all the shots with CG Neo bugged the hell out of me.

Willow - the claymation madmardigan vs the giant monster thing always bugged me.

Army of Darkness - the mini Ash evil things vs big Ash just looked awful. The rest of the awful effects in all the films worked for me, just that one scene I didn't like.

The Star Wars prequel movies looked like crap. All that time and effort and money for what?

There's been lots of laughable ones that I can't think of now, but I know there have been lots of em... usually it's in some movie I don't like, so I don't remember the films or the effects.

Mummy Returns - Just about the whole damn movie is one big example of how to NOT use CGI!

Spiderman - Just terrible FX...

LOTR - Numerous shots in the Trilogy just look fake

Yep, the whole entire sequence with the Vette flipping and getting caught on the edge of the bridge was soooo bad-looking I'm surprised someone OK'd that.

Also the potato riding in the field in AOTC was pretty laughable.

No, the worst shot for me was in TTT, when the wolf-riders attack. It's the shot of Legolas being picked up as they enter battle. Instead of just grabbing on and jumping on the back he does some physics defying move where he swings in front of the horse and flips all the way around to the back on the other side.

I always thought that shot was cool. He can do that kind of stuff because he's an elf, is the way I always figured it.
