Re: Best Hellraiser film?
For all you fans of Hellraiser, you HAVE to listen to this original radio drama done by the guys behind the Hellraiser Podcast. It's called Piercing the Veil, and it is fantastic. Professional in every way, and a much better addition to the Hellraiser mythos than most of the movies.
You can find it here: http://hellraiserpodcast.libsyn.com/...rcing-the-veil For me the first movie is tops. I just love how such crazy elements come together in such a cohesive way. That movie really shouldn't work. It could have easily been corny. It's interesting how strong interest in Hellraiser is as a property. I think that speaks to how much room there is to add to the mythology of the property, as compared to Nightmare on Elm Street of Friday the 13th. |

II, closely followed by I. One of the most unique depictions of hell I've ever seen. It loses a bit of its focus but tries some new things and ends up being a totally different movie than the original, but still complimentary to it. I ALWAYS watch these two together.
Hellraiser III is entertaining enough, but it's more generic than the first two. Bloodlines I saw a couple times when it first came out. At least it tries to be interesting but mainly fails. Was the 5th one Hellseeker? The first direct-to-DVD one. I saw it once and I gave up on further sequels. It's a Law & Order episode with a final twist that it's a Hellraiser movie. |

Re: Best Hellraiser film?
In my opinion the first Hellraiser was the best, followed very closely by Hellbound: Hellraiser II, Hellraiser III was OK, and the rest of them were unnecessary. -kd5-
