No Kumar in Life Aquatic? Say it isnt so!

What is Wes Anderson doing? According to the listed credits in IMDB this will be his first movie with no Kumar!

Who is he? Any Anderson fan knows.

Bottle Rocket: Kumar Pallana stars as KUMAR.
Kumar: Man, I blew it. I blew it, man.
Anthony: Kumar, what were you doing in the freezer?
Kumar: I don't know, man, I lose my touch, man.
Dignan: Did you ever have a touch to lose, man?

Rushmore: Kumar Pallana stars as Mr. Littlejeans.
Ok, not much memorable as far lines go from this one.

Royal Tennenbaums: Kumar Pallana stars as Pagoda.
Royal: He saved my life, you know. Thirty years ago. I was knifed at a bazaar in Calcutta, and he carried me to the hospital on his back.
Ari: Who stabbed you?
[Royal motions to Pagoda again]
Royal: He did. There was a price on my head, and he was a hired assassin. Stuck me in the gut with a shiv.

I look frward to Kumar in Andersons movies ever since I saw Bottle Rocket, hopefully this is just an accidental omission on IMDB's part.

Next thing you know Anderson will turn his back on Seymour Cassell! Wait, he's not in Aquatic either! oh boy.

I thought The Life Aquatic was Anderson's first film not co-written by Owen Wilson, so it would make sense that he's starting to shift out some of his old regulars, as well.

Still, I agree, Kumar in a scene automatically makes it a better scene.

I seem to recolect that he was most definately going to be in it. Maybe I'm missremembering. Jeffery Welles column said something about it I think.

Yea, I'm pretty sure Kumar is in, the imdb isn't exactly the authority on every film. I think even Bob Musgrave is returning to Anderson with this film, but I don't see him listed.

You'll get a Kumar fix later this year when...

HAROLD AND KUMAR GO TO WHITE CASTLE comes out. Oh man, if you thought the creators of "Dude, where's your car" were long gone, you haven't seen anything yet! uh yeah...

DO NOT go by the IMDB. I personally know people who have had credits overlooked or had bogus ones added to their pages. They are riddled with all kinds of mistakes and oversights.

Some more great Kumar quotes:

"He got the cancer"
"You son of a bitch" just before he stabs Royal in the stomach with a small swiss army knife.
"Hello, this is the Pagoda."

I'm ready for more classics in The Life Aquatic.

Yeah I seem to remember reading on the board @ wesanderson.org that Kumar was going to be in the new flick.

IMDB only has 12 people credited so far...I'm pretty sure that isn't the complete, official credits.

They never seem to be very accurate on unreleased movies anyway at IMDB. It wasn't too long ago that Bruce Campbell was listed as The Lizard in the Spiderman 2 credits - which didn't end up happening.
