I saw it with my girlfriend last night and it's an awful, awful movie

I thought the movie was an average typical-type psychological thriller. At least it was better than the dreck of Double Jeopardy.

Ha, that doesn't raise the bar much. Double Jeopardy was quite awful too. i guess the question is is this movie bad enough that it's funny bad? Or is just another Ashely Judd murder mystery whatever film. I swear she's become the queen of these half assed movies: Kiss the Girls, Double Jeopardy, High Crimes, Twisted, Eye of the Beholder (god was that awful).

ha! and I thought I had forgotten about that movie. Judd is becoming a cliche in of herself.

Glad I didn't waste time with this stinker. Judd needs to broaden her horizons quick if she doesn't want to become yesterday's news.

All Ashley Judd thrillers follow the same format:

1)Ashley's in trouble/being stalked

2) Ashley has someone she confides in

3)That person winds up being no good and is typically the killer.

become yesterday's news?

Since I have been away at law school (Vermont), I haven't been able to go to the movies as often as I would if I was home in NYC.

In any event, it's spring break, and I had to do something this afternoon, so I saw Twisted and Against the Ropes.

Out of the 2 movies, Twisted was the better movie. Seems as if Garcia was screaming all of his lines throughout the movie. I think the better twist would have been having Judd's character responsible for the murders.

I enjoyed the movie, but wish I would have gone earlier in the week.

Worst movie I've seen all year. Terrible script, it's amazing shit like this gets produced in Hollywood. What's the point? Did they think it would be amazing? Did they think they'd win Oscars? Did they think it was surprising?

For once in a movie, I'd like to see all of the evidence point to someone...and have him/her actually BE THE KILLER. Now that'd be a twist ending!

Update: still terrible.

In the first scene, the acting, lighting, framing, and music were all so bad, I was sure Ashley Judd was playing a character who is an actor on a bad police show. But no. That was the movie.

First time watching it. Just wanted some background stuff. Yikes.

21-year thread bump. Is that a record?

If I ever heard of this movie, I don't remember it now. What's Ashley Judd been up to since?

I just came from a thread in BookTalk that got a 23 year thread bump! The hell is going on around here?!

I never actually saw Twisted. I remember it being advertised but it just got lumped in with all of Ashley Judd’s similar movies of that timeframe. She really did corner the market on psychological thrillers for a while, didn’t she? It’s like she continuously remade the same movie over and over for 10 years and they just released them under different, vaguely similar, titles.

I had to poke my head in to see what was going on in here. Seems as if story has a lot of time on his hands. I don't know why he can't be like the other billionaires and just launch himself into space or cast a first-world democracy into third-world status and then overthrow it via online manipulation . . .

Wait a minute . . . or is he doing just that by using DVDTalk as his platform . . . :scratch2:

 Indeed, I do have extra time on my hands; I'm taking some time off. What better way to spend it than to renew my passport, get a physical, get an eye exam, organize my office, clean the house post at DVDTalk?!

Wow, I got to time travel and see a post by my younger self who still had most of his life ahead of him.

Were there any posts in Book Talk in between those two?

2004 seems like the 80's now and they don't make a lot of those kind of genre films like that anymore and Ashley Judd is not a big star anymore either.

Indeed. Talking about this now is like talking in 2004 about how nobody sees Brooke Adams or Theresa Russell anymore.
