I loved this movie. It really had the feeling of some of the great 80s movies like the posters above mentioned; Risky Business, Last American Virgin, and some of Hughes' movies. The music in it was great as well. It was nice to see teen movie that had some really well thought out songs placed in it rather than throwing one of the latest one-hit-wonder nu-metal or pop punk bands into the movie and it's soundtrack. I went in expecting to see some good scenes of Elisha in some skimpy clothing and came out thinking that's probably one of my favorite movies ever from the teen sex comedy genre. Can't wait for the DVD!

I don't want to take this down a dirty road, but is there a nude scene in this movie? Apparently, she said in a magazine interview that she is nude in the film but I find that hard to believe.

Just a reminder, The Girl Next Door sneak preview is tonight at 7:30pm in a few hundred theaters across the country.

I don't want to take this down a dirty road, but is there a nude scene in this movie? Apparently, she said in a magazine interview that she is nude in the film but I find that hard to believe.
Read earlier posts in the thread and you'll find the answer.

Caught this last night -- I loved it.

Definitely one of the best comedies I've seen in years. Everyone I try to tell this to just looks at me strange, in complete disbelief. I can't blame them, though. I went in not expecting much except hot Elisha Cuthbert and was so pleasantly surprised by how good the movie was.

This is a movie blessed with a great soundtrack but I guess the Who song was too expensive for the soundtrack, Verve one should be on it also but the movie is a great comedy and not as sophomoric as others and as soft as others tend to be be.

The Girl Next Door Commercial Question...

Okay, I've been seeing commercials for the Girl Next Door...

I really don't understand this scene that plays at the end of each commercial...

Timothy Olyphant says ,"So, what's next?"
Then the teenager says ,"Some seri...." and it cuts him off midsentence and says APRIL 9TH!!!!

What the hell does "Some seri..." mean, and why did they include it in the commercial?

Spoiler-ish

He says " Some serious shit" when asked by his principal what he's been up to. Seems they expect people to know he cursed.

You asked the question once and it was answered. it was bumped back a month so more marketing could be done. There has been about 8 preview screenings of this to my knowledge.

So why not have him say "Some Serious" then cut him off?

In these commercials he just says "Some seri" APRIL 9TH!!!

As Harosa said:

Principal: What is going on with you Matthew?
Matthew: Some serious shit.

There have been two public sneak previews for the film (there was one two weeks ago and one over a month ago) and numerous others (ex: critics, radio contest screenings, etc.) depending which city you live in (there have been at least 3-4 other screenings of the film here in Vegas, Virgin Megastore is always giving out passes to it).

Hopefully with the extra promotion the film is getting, more people will go see the film.

Alright, I just watched the trailer for this and all the clips on quicktime.com.

Out of all of those, I only laughed once. I will see this movie if there's a lot of Elisha Cuthbert nudity. Otherwise, no sale. I won't even rent it on DVD (unless it's an unrated cut with plenty of Elisha Cuthbert nudity).

Because, without nudity, it's just a 90-minute cocktease with some lame jokes.

It's suppose to be a LOL comedy? I thought it was suppose to be a

Boy and girl from opposite sides of the track help each other realize who they are by showing them the other side type of teen romance flick.

Nudity is there, but not from Elisha. Am I rite?

The film is not an entire LOL comedy (and there are only a few films that are). Think of it as a really dirty R-rated romantic comedy/drama similar to say Risky Business and The Last American Virgin. The film has a few LOL moments and a lot of chuckles, but it's not a full-on comedy flick.

And the US trailer sucks, that's been established.
And all the clips on the Quicktime site have been edited... heavily...

Girl Next Door Reviews

It's getting an 81% right now at Rotten Tomatoes! Pretty good for a "teen gross-out" flick.
