sherlock holmes-- where to start?
 

I am interested in watching the classic Sherlock Holmes movies, the Rathbone/Bruce ones. The consensus seems to be that they're the best, are they? There are a lot of them it seems, and I can't afford to get the box sets, so which ones are the essentials which I should rent?

the upcoming Hound Of The Baskervilles and the Adventures Of... are considered to b the best of the Rathbone/Bruce series.
of the rest, Scarlet Claw would be high up there as well- that's available now.

i would suggest seeing that one first and then going from there.
