Sounds like Mel is saying all the right things. Somehow this will get twisted though. Everything else seems to. Edit - Thread Title |
Well, this is obviously a labor of love. Did Gibson finance this movie by himself?
|
yea everything was out of pocket for him, so that he would make it the way he wanted.

The interview seemed really well done. My first impression of it says Kudos to ABC. And some of the footage they used from the film during the interview seemed really powerful.
|
I also enjoyed the interview. Being a believer myself, I was impressed on what he said during the interview. Like what Stu 17 said "saying the right stuff."
But my only complaint was that they needed more input from ministers who also saw the film not just historian scholars etc. . . I'm just glad Gibson has the courage and faith to make a film like this. I always dreamed of a director making an R-rated movie (how it really was) about Jesus. My all time favorite Jesus movie is"Jesus of Nazareth" and I'm sure that will change when I see Gibson's movie. I'm exicited. |
I totally forgot to watch this last night. I'll catch the soundbytes on the link...thanks!

I would like to point out that Abraham Foxman (in the quotes from him in this article) also said all the right things from his perspective.
|
There's a discussion of the actual interview over in TV Talk.
