Thoughts on the work of François Ozon?

After having seen Swimming Pool and as I enjoy our little discussion of it here, I am growing more impressed with the job that François Ozon did making it. As such, I was thinking about looking into some more of his work. Anybody have any thoughts on any other of his films?

With a little help from IMDB, these are the movies that he has directed:

- 5x2 (upcoming)
- Swimming Pool
- 8 Women
- Under the Sand
- Water Drops On Burning Rocks
- Criminal Lovers
- X 2000
- Scènes de lit
- Sitcom
- See the Sea
- A Summer Dress
- Jospin s'éclaire
- La Petite mort
- Truth or Dare
- Une rose entre nous
- Victor
- Thomas reconstitué
- Deux plus un
- Peau contre peau
- Le Trou madame
- Une goutte de sang
- Mes parents un jour d'été
- Les Doigts dans le ventre
- Photo de famille

Thanks!

8 Women - total degradation for the best French actresses ever.
Under the Sand - his best film, but that is not saying much.
Water Drops on Burning Rocks - irredeemable pile.
Sitcom - I'd rather watch Gigli.

In other words, don't bother with Ozon. There are much, much better directors out that that are worth your time.

Ozon seems to want to do genre films but fails to impress me. 'Under the Sand' and 'See the Sea' are probably his best.
