Here's a similar thread from earlier: http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=338213

If it is stolen, then I hope the French author gets the credit he deserves.

But, I'll leave it up for the courts to decide.

Eh this wasn't stolen. Even if the idea was stolen, that sure as hell wasn't the main thing that made this film so successful...so even if the courts rule that it was plagiarized, at most they should owe him like 100 bucks. Talking clownfish!!

It's no as ridiculous as the guy suing madonna and guy ritchie over swept away. "It was my idea to remake that movie!!!" Give me a break.

Did the judege inform the guy that the remake was a flop of a movie?

Hopefully the judge found Guy Ritchie and Madonna in contempt for thinking the remake was a good idea.

Check the other thread for some real hilarity. Learn how Star Wars is a blatant rip-off of "Dancing Technicolor Man":

Ahh, the second wave of this story is hitting. : ) I remember hearing about this a while back, I guess with the lawsuit coming up it is "big news", although whatever will come out of it is probably meaningless.

What gets lost in that other thread (and in most discussions of this issue) is that this guy isn't suing to get money out of Disney because he feels his idea was plagarized. He's suing to get it leagally recognized that his book pre-dates Finding Nemo and is not a work derived from the film. He's doing this because book shops pulled his book because they assumed it was a rip-off derivative trying to cash in on the Pixar/Disney hit. He simply wants his book recognized as "not a rip-off" so that he can continue to sell it.

I hate to tell you guys this, but Disney didn't make this film or write the story. So if it's stolen, it wasn't Disney who stole it. It was Pixar who stole it. I know you guys like to take a crap on Disney while praising Pixar, but get your facts straight. Not a Disney movie. A Pixar movie.

Screw the Frenchie. Too friggin bad if Pixar did rip off Nemo. What's he going to do, fight...well maybe surrender.
