BEST Adam Sandler film?

BEST film starring Adam Sandler?

Adam Sandler films to consider for other:

Going Overboard (1989)
Bulletproof (1996)
Little Nicky (2000)
A Day with the Meatball (2002)
Eight Crazy Nights (2002)

Billy Madison or Happy Gilmore.

After that its Big Daddy.

It's hard to consider PDL a Sandler movie, so I voted Wedding Singer

Rogue588 02-01-04 03:12 PM

gave it up for Billy Madison..

I find that I watch Big Daddy more than any of his other films, therefore I would have to say Big Daddy.

I've enjoyed very few Sandler movies, Happy Gilmore & Punch Drunk Love. I really was surprised with what P.T.Anderson accomplished in PDL, Sandler was very good. Gilmore is classic for the Bob Barker scene alone.

Shampoo is better!

Punch Drunk Love.

But if you don't include that movie because, well, it's not a typical Sandler movie, I'd have to go with either Wedding Singer or his funiest IMO, Billy Madison.

"Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

Punch-Drunk Love

Has to be The Wedding Singer. But the movie is good mostly because of Drew Berrymore.

Punch-Drunk Love

Punch-Drunk Love, hands down. Totally changed my perspective on him, though Happy Gilmore was really funny!

Yikes, Punch-Drunk Love? That ranks as the second-worst movie I've ever seen. It was just so horribly forced. Amazingly bad movie. And this coming from someone who adores movies like Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, and Lost in Translation, which I thought were infinitely more clever.

I voted for The Wedding Singer. Unlike with Emily Watson, Adam Sandler actually had some chemistry with Drew Barrymore.

Punch Drunk Love

Definitely Happy Gilmore.

I have seen it a hundred times, and I still laugh.

Highlights:

Bob Barker beat down
Cussin the golf ball, the caddy, etc. scene
dream sequences.

Hmmm... I'm not much of a Sandler fans... but I found The Wedding Singer to be a guilty pleasure of mine. :D

FiveO 02-01-04 09:16 PM

Punch Drunk Love was an interesting movie but I had to go with Happy Gilmore.

Punch-Drunk Love

Big Daddy has the best quotable lines, then Billy Madison.

But Happy Gilmore is priceless for the batting cage sequence alone.

PalmerJoss 02-02-04 08:33 AM

Happy Gilmore

mljones99 02-02-04 08:53 AM

happy gilmore

DGibFen 02-02-04 09:29 AM

Punch-Drunk Love is the one where his comedic strengths are somehow harnessed into dramatic tools. Works for me.

But Happy Gilmore is his best comedic role, so if I could vote for two, I'd include that one.

Star Wars Guy 02-02-04 09:36 AM

Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer, and Billy Madison are all very close in my book. Since I could only vote for one, I chose Happy Gilmore. Now if only we could get some more good golf movies like this and Caddy Shack.

Michael Corvin 02-02-04 09:59 AM

They are all basically the same movie. With the exception of two. PDL, which I haven't seen and Wedding Singer, where he actually showed a tiny bit of acting range vs. just playing a lovable moron in the rest.
